Stayed at this hotel on July 14-15, 2018 with my extended family. Last minute booking, we were looking for a hotel with a swimming pool. The location of this hotel is quite strategic, close to culinary centre and Kebun Raya Bogor/Bogor Botanical Gardens and Pajajaran street. Since we got there around 12 AM, it was difficult to get a parking spot, but the security guy/satpam provided valet service so no problem.
Then we went to our room on the 4th floor in the 1st tower. Noticed that there's only one out of two working elevators, which presumably doubled as service elevator as well, because our bellboy waited to use the same elevator. Turned out our rooms are actually located on floor 3.5 because we got off at 3rd floor then went up by stairs to our room. The hallway was a bit dark so it was kinda spooky. When entering our room, we noticed that the fire alarm emergency switch in our room was broken. The room itself was quite clean and nicely decorated, just like the room and suite pics provided by the management. Few amenities in the room: flat, small screen LG TV (power button on the remote not working), small fridge, bathroom with shower head (no bathtub) and cold & hot water (good water pressure), two slippers, two pillows (no additional pillows), two bottles of complementary water, balcony (with operational/openable windows), a split air conditioner (thankfully worked very well and not noisy) and a chair. We found it strange that there's a mirror right in front of the bed (right behind the TV) as a decor. Then my wife noticed the bed sheets were a bit rumpled (looked like somebody's laid/slept on it). Since it's already late and my son was very sleepy, we decided to sleep on it anyway. Then at night, my wife noticed that the windows rattled frequently thus making noises, despite no draft on the outside. And we could hear the road noise of motorcyclists racing from the main street somewhere. Oh well. I think the bed was hard on your back (not sure if it's topper). while the bedding feels soft and comfortable. And my in-laws complained that the housekeeping took more than 30 minutes until he showed up to change the stained bed sheets from her room.
In the morning, off we went to restaurant for a breakfast. Selection wise, considering it's a 3-star OK, I think quality, presentation and selection-wise it's OK. As usual you get a selection of Indonesian foods (chicken porridge, bubur sumsum, fried rice etc) or continental breakfast (bread, pastry & danish, egg station, cereal etc). I like the chicken porridge (too bad it was cold) and the fruits and the juices. Coffee was OK too (self service). The staffs were quick to clear our tables.
Then we went to the swimming pool. There are two pools, a kids pool and an adult pool. Both are unheated/cold water, and that day it was quite cold. The pool was clean, and you could borrow a hotel towel for free. But then I noticed what seems to be an submerged electrical cable from inside the kids pool. I really hope the hotel management has MADE sure and double-checked it's really safe.
So, what I like from the hotel:
- Juices & coffee provided during breakfast
- Strategic location
- Good water pressure in the shower
- Quick checkout (hand over your room key and you're good to go)
- Nice/modern decor and spacious room
What I least like from the hotel:
- Spooky room
- Safety can be improved (broken emergency switch, submerged electrical cable in the kids pool)
- Uncomfortable/hard bed
