“Best host I have ever experienced”
Reviewed 27 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Villa Kasili is a beautifully presented, clean and well appointed villa and included everything we needed. The location is great, quiet and away from the rows and rows of villas elsewhere. The minute scooter ride into town is easy and safe and provides a nice separation from the bustling centre. Best of all was Agung, the host. He is very friendly, always helpful and completely trustworthy (something that can be a little hard to find in Bali). Would recommend without hesitation

“Wonderful, relaxing, truly unique experience of village life !”
Reviewed 5 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Unit is wonderful, beds are very comfortable , pool great and refreshing after long walk .
Located in the local village which is very unique experience . Very quiet and peaceful expect for the roosters in the morning but you do get used to them .
Agung, the owner cooks the most delicious breakfast every morning, he is the most warming person. Nothing is to much trouble. He took us into Ubud on New Years eve and collected us afterwards , which was out of his own time. He did this another night as well.
Agung took us on a tour of his village which was very rewarding, something we would not have seen without him. Ubud itself is a very long walk from the unit but it is possible .

A big thankyou again for looking after so well for the second time in the passed 12 mths.
Nothing seems to be to much to ask when staying at Villa Kasili , we always get great insights into what is happening in the local and surrounding villages and this time was no different.
Again we can highly recommend villa Kasili and our wonderful host Agung Rai.
Many many thanks we cant wait to get back again soon.

“Excellent accommodation and very well managed - home from home”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed at Villa Kasili and really enjoyed living in a true Balinese village. The Villa was cleaned every day to a good standard and Agung the owner was very helpful with local information and points of interest. Ubud central is only a short distance away and easy to get to quickly. We would certainly recommend staying at this beautiful villa.

“A true Balinese experience”

Villa Kasili is very modern, but with a traditional feel, in a small village, approximately 20min walk from Ubud, either through or around The Monkey Forest. As Ubud is extremely busy, we liked the idea of being away from the centre of town. There is a phone at the villa so you can easily call Agung, the owner, if you want a lift into town or you can arrange for a driver, takeaway etc. The cost to get either to or from Ubud is approximately 50000Rp ($5AUD). Agung will also arrange any tours or activities that you would like to do and we also paid for him to take us on a day tour, which was a great way to see the sights. There is free wifi, which was great, and a huge variety of DVDs to keep you entertained at night. The pool was lovely, cool and refreshing - a great way to end the day. Filtered water was supplied, which was welcomed after having to buy so much when we stayed in Sanur. Breakfast was filling, with enough variety for each day. There was also a fridge to store your own supplies. There are 2 single beds in a huge room with outdoor bathroom downstairs and a king bed with ensuite upstairs. The living area is an attached to the downstairs bedroom and opens onto the back area, with an outdoor kitchen and pool. There is lots of storage and even a safe.

The following aren't really negatives and wouldn't stop us staying again, but should be taken into account as they could be huge issues for others. It would be nice to have fresh towels - maybe not every day but every couple of days. Breakfast was a little slow, which may suit many, but made it a little difficult with a toddler's short attention span. There is no air conditioning so be prepared - although there are pedestal fans, they don't work well when you have a mosquito net over the bed. The living area is an open space to the pool so you need to be vigilant if you have young children. The roosters go nuts from 5am so if you are a light sleeper, take ear plugs.

Liked best: It felt like we were staying in Bali but with modern comforts.
Liked least: Open plan living room made it a little difficult with a toddler.
