“peaceful Penestanan again...in a gorgeous villa”
Reviewed 29 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We loved our stay in this 3 bedroom villa. About our fifth stay in Penestanan and third one of Steve's villas we have tried. Love the open layout in Heliconia, lovely gardens, bale to relax in and a huge pool. Bit cool temp for us in August to use but perfect layout to able to talk to family while relaxing by the pool, on the lounge or bale or cruising past the bedrooms. Indra looked after us very well, cooked lovely breakfast, and we appreciated his and Steve's help in picking up some gluten free bread for a family member. Great Service!
Loved the distance from the path...meaning no scooter noise. And especially loved waking early and going for a wander just metres down the path to see the early Bali stirrings in the ricefields, the ducks, the hazy smoky air..all before the heat hits too hard. Special memories of these walks exploring the local area and its varied residents. We will be back!

“Perfect in every way”
Reviewed 11 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Stayed for 10 nights, and could easily have doubled the lenght. Villa was spotless, and perfect for our family of four. Great bedrooms, great bathrooms, great lounge and dining area. Well kept and clean. Indra served good breakfasts and was always happy and smiling.

Located in a calm village in easy walking distance to Ubud. Eve spa and Bayu's kitchen also visited, great experiences there too. If you need transport, a good group of drivers are located just as you turn off the street. Take a walk 100 meters past the alley leading to the villa, and magnificent ricefields will appear. Fantastics views early morning.

“Helpful Staff, Value for Money”
Reviewed 6 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Our group of 6 arrived at 930 after a slight rush when the villa staff told us to reach by 10. The villa was located just outside of Ubud central by car. The road leading up to the villa is too narrow for a car to pass through, so we had to park at the entrance and walk the rest of the way, so my first impressions of the place made me start worrying. However, when we reached the villa, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff made sure we were comfortable and settled in before leaving.

2 of the 3 bedrooms had double beds and 1 had 2 singles. Each bedroom had an attached bathroom, which was very spacious and fully enclosed. There was a small walk in wardrobe in each, which I enjoyed very much. Water pressure was good and hot water was constant. The villa provided towels, although I cannot be certain that they were changed every day. No other toiletries were provided though, including a hair dryer.

The bedding was comfortable, although there were stains on the sheets. The airconditioning was strong, as was the wifi. The rest of the villa was also comfortable. Breakfast of toast, eggs and fruit is provided everyday. The common areas are open concept, so do be prepared for bugs coming in. The pool was of a decent size and depth, but remained surprisingly cold (to us) throughout the day.

The star of this place must be the staff. We were having a surprise celebration, and the staff were amazing in decorating the place and arranging for food. Even on the normal days, they went above what they needed to do in preparing our breakfast. They also helped arrange for masseuses to come to the villa. Definitely bumped up this rating by a star.

“Great villa, money well spent”

We booked the villa for a 4D3N stay in Ubud, it was a good decision. Great place with a private swimming pool, nice atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly. Just the perfect place to rest and relax. We spent most of our time at the pool side, they can arrange for massage service as well. It is only 10 mins away from Ubud Central so you can just drive there and explore the area. We dont mind coming back again in the future, definitely a great experience.

“Delightful oasis”
Reviewed 4 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

A delightful oasis in beautiful Ubud. The villa is definitely better in real life than in the pictures. The pool is enormous and well cared for. The garden is lush and welcoming. We slept so well here, it's a peaceful oasis (apart from a little bit of noise from a nearby construction site but that didn't worry us). Our "Room Boy" Indra was lovely, and cooked us a delicious breakfast each morning.

Steve (management) was really prompt with all communication, and even organised to replace a fault airconditoner in one of the bedrooms while we were there.

The villa is in a great location, near some great little local restaurants and businesses. Easiest to grab a cab into Ubud centre, although walking is also easy.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Warung Mendez which is just down the road. Also check out the Yellow Flower Cafe and yoga studio nearby.

Thanks to all, a great property and recommended to stay!
