“Just Perfect”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This June five of us travelled to Bali for a "Boys Holiday" the first half of the holiday was in Ubud and we did all the adventure stuff, Rafting, Quads, Canoeing on Lake Batur etc.
The second part we stayed at Villa Sanur to rest and recuperate, when you book accommodation across the internet it does feel like a bit of a gamble, however I hit the jackpot with Villa Sanur!, my dealings with Kristen and Richard were hassle free from day one, they were always very accommodating to my requests, they have setup their Villa so you don't have to worry about a thing for instance there is a Villa mobile phone for local calls when you are in and away from the Villa with preset numbers to the staff and others to fill your needs.
Villa Sanur is an exceptional Villa it's grounds are walled, very secure and child friendly it is styled in a very interesting and organic architecture that photos don't do justice for, all of the rooms are very spacious, super clean, and contain everything you require for relaxed holiday, the kitchen is fully featured with filtered water on tap, a huge fridge that will house all the food and Bintang you could possibly wish for, there is coffee, tea, milk, etc. available at all times, I scored a lot of kudos from the other guys in my group for choosing Villa Sanur.
The grounds are highly manicured and the pool is kept clean and sparkling, the whole property has little nooks and crannies and interesting features to explore. The beach is about a 5-7 minute walk out the back gate and has some interesting little shops and a restaurant with seating literally on the water's edge.
The Villa is located in the Southern region of Sanur and is within an easy walk to shops and restaurants, it is away from the somewhat more busy centre of Sanur but only by a few minutes in a Taxi or on a bike or Scooter, Sanur is one of the few villages in Bali where scooter and pushbike riding is an absolute breeze with its more relaxed way of life and much smaller crowds.
I have left my review of the staff till last because they left the most lasting impression.
Komang and the rest of the staff are exceptional and were a highlight of our stay, if the Villa had any negative aspects (which it doesn't!) they would more than compensate. The breakfast's were always prepared well with the table set beautifully with enough food, drinks and fruit for five hungry Aussie guys to kick-start their days. The grounds are kept immaculate daily by the staff who manage to get their work done quietly without intruding on your holiday, at the same time if you want to ask them something they are friendly and make you feel that nothing is too much trouble.
Komang is the "go to" man in the Villa if you need or want anything, Icy cold Bintang's, Scooters, Taxi's, Fireworks for the beach or knowledge of things in the area of Sanur or the island of Bali he is the man to see or even if you just want to talk about Balinese culture or any subject he is happy to make himself available, indeed a perfect host.
We are hoping to stay at Villa Sanur again and I don't hesitate in recommending the Villa to anyone.

“Family friendly gorgeous villa”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I stayed at The Villa Sanur with my husband, 4 year old son and a friend.

We initially chose The Villa Sanur as it has a pool fence and is a family friendly villa. We found it hard to find villa style accommodation that was safe for young children.

We arrived in the dark and were greeted by the lovely Komang. Our jaws dropped when we entered the grounds! At night, with the garden lit up, it looked spectacular. When we woke in the morning, the villa was even more impressive in the day light. Such amazing gardens and little corners to discover.

The pool was perfect for us with a large shallow section that was great for our 4 year old to safely play in. And the fence gave us such peace of mind that he would be safe at other times.

The design of the villa was so different to everything else we looked at, so that was also a draw card. It was great to stay somewhere that was out of the ordinary and so different to a resort.

We also liked the location. It was nice and quiet but still close enough to walk to the beach (very close) and to some nice cafe's/warung's. We did use a taxi to get to the main part of Sanur, mainly as our son could not make the distance. But there are lots of taxi's around so that was not an issue, and they are CHEAP.

The villa manager, Komang, was also a huge asset to our stay. He helped us out with all of our questions and anything we needed. Our son followed him around helping with the daily jobs and Komang played with him whenever he could. Such a gentle and lovely soul.

“Be amazed and delighted.......”

There are many holiday villas in Sanur but this one stands out. Comfortable clean accommodation with 4 large enthralling double bedrooms, 3 spacious ensuites, expansive seating areas to relax in, computer study with free Wifi available, plus interesting openair mosaic tiled kitchen...however it is the architecture and the enchanting garden that really captures the atmosphere of this unique and mystical villa. A large shallow 30cm lily pond stocked with hundreds of goldfish, dominates the centre of the garden. Here you will find water plants, dragon flies, butterflies, ornate shrubs, garden art, water fountains, enchantment and wonderment. The estate is a walled haven, private and secure, located at the southern beach end of Sanur, close to the Mercure hotel and the start of the boardwalk. Yes...you can walk through the lockable blue door to the hustle and bustle of Sanur....trawl the market places....tempt your taste buds with local cuisine...run on the beach...but it is when you return to the villa that you truly appreciate where you are staying. Komang the villa manager is exceptional in his service and local knowledge. Breakfast menu is delicious and plentiful. Pool is clean and inviting, and fenced should you have little ones. But it is the garden that holds the secrets to this Alice in Wonderland environment. A new adventure around every corner, a path taking you on a journey of discovery.....all the while wrapping you in relaxation and a sense of peace. Come nightfall when the garden lights turn on and the fantasy of a favourite fairytale runs through your mind, you find yourself totally engrossed in this awe inspiring setting. Whatever your age, young or young at heart, The Villa Sanur is captivating. I highly recommend staying here....yes....as with other villas it has the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the amenities, but what makes this villa stand tall above the others is how it makes you FEEL....it is magical, it is motivating..it won't disappoint.

“A great 2 family get away! We will stay again!!”
Reviewed 19 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Two families, 4 kids 5 and under! What a wonderful holiday and villa. A sandpit, a mini slip and slide area, a pool an outdoor lounge area to watch the kids play from under the coolness of 4 fans. Or retreat away in one of two lounge areas for some afternoon quiet DVD time. Our kids loved it. My 3 yr old keeps asking to go back to out Bali home. Now that I've stayed in a villa not sure I could go back to a hotel or apartment!

Komang the villa manager and his staff are wonderful! Komang is the shiny star of this villa is business skills are impeccable he values his position at the villa so highly that he is there at your every need! Our children also enjoyed playing with his young son when he was nearby! Komang lives not far so we always felt safe and secure at the villa.

The morning breakfast was equally stunning a table set for a king and queen was made every morning and fresh fruit tea and coffee awaiting! Komang would make sure my daughters baby bottles were boiled and everything was clean and sanitized.

Komang organised more bikes and baby seats and also some bacon for our men for breakfast nothing was too much to ask for him.

There is a pond that is not fenced but as the main living areas are outside I was always close by. The tv room also looks onto the pond so I didn't find this an issue with my 13month old however I would never leave her outside by herself as then it would be an issue.
Location is at the far end of Sanur beach 5-10 bike or walk from most things. Beach is 2min walk.

“Fantastic " Hobbit" villa”
Reviewed 18 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

The garden and villa are great. New things to find in the garden around every corner.
The swimming pool is fantastic and well looked after.
The beach is about a 5 minute walk out off the back gate.
Komang the villa manager is a gem, very helpful in any way he can, he is a great asset to the villa, as are all the staff.
I would really like to recommend Madam Putu's as a place to eat ( go down the lane out of the front door, turn left, and it is just down the road on your right). We ate there every night and the bill was never over $35 Australian for 3 adults, 2 children, that was including 2 large Bintangs 3 great milk shakes, 2 large Barracuda steaks, Chicken breast steak, Chicken kababs, all served with chips, and 1 plate of chips. The staff are friendly, and Mama is a dream.
Transport to Hardy's supermarket ( very good selection of food, good selection of clothers, good fixed price, so no haggling was Price 30,000. Transport to the airpot was 200,000.
Kristen & Richard answer any emails straight away if you have any questions.
Happy holidays Keith
