We have been coming to Tamukami for several years now. It is a quiet place up a short lane from the busy Jalan Danau Tamblingan, with large pavilions. Sadly the owners have grown old and seem to have less time to ensure that everything works smoothly, so that gradually the rooms are growing more tired-looking and, as another reviewer noted, the staff seem to be going through the motions. The friendliness and attention that we received a few years ago, especially at reception, is somewhat on the wane. However this remains a place that is good value for money in Sanur. What will happen when the present owners retire however is open to question.

We had a 9 night stay in Tamukami in April 2017 with my mom who had already been here 6 years prior to this.

The room we had (nr 201) was located right next to the pool and the restaurant. It was very spacious and the bed was huge!! The pool area and the atmosphere is beautiful. The staff is friendly and the cleaners did an excellent job from one day to another.

As many here have already mentioned, the breakfast is quite small. Also the taste is okay but just okay. I think we tried every brekkie from the selection and our favorite was the English one as the noodle overdose hit hard. Must say that there is a room for improvement - half a piece of bacon and one piece of toast cut into half is just too little. I actually ordered extra toast (without cost turned out). Also the Juices had water in them but later on the week they tasted better, so I don't know if we just got used to it or did they use more fruit:D

Also as a detail, it would have been nice to have morning robes and slippers. We also asked for mosquitoe repellent as my mom sat on the porch every night relaxing and reading a book.

All in all it is a peaceful and a beautiful hotel and we had a wonderful holiday. They have a big library of books. We found heaps of books in Finnish as well, which was great. I would recommend this hotel.

Thank you tamukami!

We recently spent a week at the Tamukami. While the hotel was nice the room was good there is just something amiss with this hotel. We felt that the place lacks any happiness or vibrance. Staff seem to be going through the motions. The clientele were mainly of retired age and European. This may be because the owner is an older european man who lives onsite. Not a bad hotel, however, not a place we would go back to or recommend.

We stayed here for one night including a late check out. This is an older hotel and whilst our room was comfortable and clean with good aircon, the bathroom, especially the shower, has mouldy patches in the grout and towels very tired. Breakfast was ok and location not too bad but it is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach front. I feel this hotel is over priced and I don't think I would stay here again.

i don't like to write bad ratings. but in the end i need to tell you the hotel is overpriced. i stayed in a bungalow for around 1,2 mio per night. the room was oldfashioned, dark and also was a little bit smelly inside. breakfast was very small. fresh juice was mixed with water. i felt like what the hell, how can they be stingy with the bacon for that price. the pool was nice. and the owners very friendly! i would say for around 0,5 Mio Rupiah i would rate the hotel higher. But value for money here is just to bad.
