Situated amidst the Nilgiris..there can’t be a better place than this in Ooty to recharge your batteries...Added to it ..an extremely courteous staff and an infinity pool with a view that’s worth an experience
Adding a couple of pics from my insta account..just to highlight how beautiful the place looks.Actual pics folks..no trickery or editing...

The location of the hotel is very nice. It is around 15km away from ooty overlooking the mountains and offers good views. The staff is also good.
However we felt that the hotel is too overrated as compared to the experience it offers.
firstly, the approach road to the hotel is itself very bad which definitely needs to be built.
rooms are small and there was no cupboard/ storage space/ hangers in the room. Wifi is available only in the reception area and not anywhere else. Rooms are non AC, so in summer noons, it might not be a good choice.
While checking in the manager informed us that they have many activities like archery, badminton etc. However, the facilities are only for name sake. There is no badminton court nor any net. Just one toyish badminton net is placed at a place which is on a slope and not even properly levelled.
The infinity pool is good and that is the only good facility available in the hotel. For that also, we felt that the chlorine level in the water was toooo high.
We had one meal at the hotel as ala carte on chargeable basis. The quality of food was good.
However, the breakfast which was included in the package was not good. The spread was limited and preparation was not good for some items. Also, all quantity of items which they were serving compared to the guests present was less. So they were getting over every now and then. We had to ask the staff at least 5-6 times before they got us a cup of hot milk.
Overall our experience was just average at the hotel. It is too overpriced as compared to the facilities and services offered by the hotel. Would not really recommend.

Room tip: Hotel is tooo overpriced as compared to the experience.

Glyngarth Resorts are perfectly located - you wouldn't find such beautiful 360 degree views of the hills anywhere else in or around Ooty. But the resort itself, being new, is yet to mature into a five star property - and hence should not be sold on websites as one - for now at least.

The positives - beautiful location, an infinity pool, games arena and above all - very courteous staff. I wouldn't call them negatives, but there are quite a few areas where there is scope for improvement.

- We had booked a 'Mountain View Cottage' which was recommended by other travellers. However, the resort has no cottage. All rooms have large glass windows - which tend to heat up the room in the day due to the greenhouse effect. By afternoon, you are feeling warm and wish to kick the covers away. Had the windows been french windows, may be the rooms wouldn't heat up so much.

- The hotel had also offered treks in the package - but every morning we were told that the local guide had called off the trek due to danger of bisons and elephants. So we walked around the area on mountain trails on our own everyday and did not get to meet even a single animal even once.

- The bakery was empty and a baking class offered in the package was never conducted.

- The choice of food was limited. On one occasion, we couldn't have two pizzas as only one base was available. Items on the breakfast menu were over on another occasion, though there was more than half an hour to go before the closing time.

- The daily housekeeping was not regular - we had to remind the hotel twice during our four night stay. The staff took away all the soaps in use and replaced them with a single new bar. Despite knowing that there would be three guests in the room, toiletries and other items were only for one/ two.

- The hotel pool is frequented by nearby visitors who come for a day pool party and create a lot of noise.

- The sim based modem at the reception was very erratic.

We did mention to the manager that the services booked had been partially provided and he waived off our entire food bill. While this is acknowledged, I still feel that the property right now is suited to the weekend or day traveller who is looking for short term fun. It definitely does not fall into the luxury category as of now in terms of the services offered.

Room tip: All Rooms are the same.

It's a passionately built and pretty new resort around 16 kms away from the hustle and bustle of Ooty.

The rooms and common areas are serene, spacious and all have an element of richness and luxury (partly since the property is new). We were there in March for a honeymoon and stayed there for 3N4D. The weather was supportive with dry heat in the afternoons and pleasantly chilly late afternoons / evenings. Breakfast was decent with limited spread. The highlight of the stay was the food ordered a-la-carte and the spa. The chefs and servers perpetually wore a smile and could customise food as per personal preference. We had 30 min complimentary spa sessions included in our package but the quality of massage was way better than what we get after paying at other places. In fact, we opted for an additional paid 30 min session since the complimentary was so good. Its mildly expensive but worth it. Fresh cookies and biscuits were served in the room every evening. A big shout to Sam in housekeeping for the warm smile and constant willingness to serve and attend to guests.

The limited activities within the resort included badminton, archery, bonfires at night and a dip in their infinity pool (however the water was chilly through the day). At nights, you can sit by the pool or restaurant or near the bonfire and sip on your spirit (kindly carry all your supplies since alcohol isn't served in the resort and there isn't a market anywhere close). You can relish the darkness of valley and star gaze. You can see locals having lit small fires in the valley and making noises to keep animals away from their fields.

A few downsides include rooms being non air-conditioned which made them a lil stuffy in the afternoons especially if the full sized windows aren't curtained. Also, we had an instance when some room service guy just barged into the room without knocking. Also, my wife spotted 2 small cockroaches in the room during the stay. We were staying in the B6 chalet but I mistakingly walked up to B4 chalet once and touched my key card. Thankfully, there was no one inside but I wondered how my key worked for another chalet. We made it a point to keep our room properly locked during our stay. Honestly, all the above issues didn't bum me much but I understand it could be a big deal for others.

Overall, a memorable short honeymoony place and well deserving of the high TA rating.

Very calm and serene environment... but far from city (abt 15/20 kms) but worth the drive. They have excellent views and good service as well. As it’s bit far from everything so take stuff u need and relinquish from the hustle bustle of the day to day life. Time seems to stand still as there’s not much to do other than swimming and nature trails, but still would highly recommend to couples for some quality time!!
