Visited courtallam on 12th and 13th june 2017. Enjoyed five falls bathing at 0430 AM on 13th. There was not much crowd. Enjoyed bathing in the falls. Since there was no rain on that day the falls was not so rough.

Courtallam has a list of falls - Main falls, five falls, old courtallam falls, sitraruvi, tiger falls etc. Of all these, main falls and five falls are the most popular among visitors and gets crowded during season (usually around July-September).
Old courtallam is also equally good and I recommend visitors to have a bath over there as it is usually less crowed compared to other falls.

Courtallam which is situated near the bordering area to Kerala via Chengottai is one of the best tourist attraction in the Southern most part of Tamil Nadu. It is always advisable to visit this place during the season time when light drizzling frequently splashes on your head and back will give you freshness and coolness to your mind and body. You can have bath any number of times in a day and even during the night and you will feel only freshness, will never fall sick and your appetite increases. Initially you will be reluctant/hesitant to bath and once you entered into the falls, you won't feel like coming back so easily. This is the reality. Courtallam is a hilly terrain with grownup trees and dense forests and the water which falls through herbal plants and the pure and fresh water cures lot of diseases and never harms you in any way. Main falls, Tiger falls, Five falls, Honey falls, Chitraruvi, Puli aruvi are the places where you can take bath. Among all, Old falls which is about 7 k.m. from the Main falls is the most safest, less crowded place to have bath and can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding places..Separate arrangements for bathing have been made for both men and women at all places and Police personnels keep constant vigil on the crowds movements. Paid rooms are availalble for changing dresses. It is always advisable to keep a close watch on our belongings, as plenty of monkeys roaming round for food can lift the unguarded things. An artificial lake has been created for boating for the benefit of the tourists in between Main falls and Five falls for jolly rides. The senbaga Aruvi which is not easily accessible can be reached by trekking over the hills by enjoying its beauty and can breath fresh air.During this season time, plenty of vehicles are operating for the benefit of the tourists to ferry them to various places of the falls. From Courtallam to Chengottai and bordering the Kerala Region, beautiful locations are worth visiting. It is one of the most satisfactoy visit with my family.
