“Peaceful spot in the middle of the city”

Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Not the most amazing natural spot I've ever visited, but you can immediately feel the temperature drop 5 degrees upon entering the cool shade of the sanctuary. Lots of birds around (you can hear them, even if you can't see all of them), and bats hanging from trees as well. Can't go very far into the park on foot, but that's kind of the point - it's a sanctuary that humans happen to be allowed into, not a zoo. Next to the Kerala High Court, which is a neat building.

Thank Ethan B

It was ok. It can be improved. Its a long stretch where you can observe a lot of birds. If you are not a nature lover you might get bored

Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is Closed. Not recommended to visit. No staff is seen. The Sanctuary is not maintained by the government. It is behind the High court but not many people know that it exists. No bird was seen there. But found lots of bats in a tree.

This was my first spot which I planned to see when I have visited to cochin, what a waste of time and energy, I have no idea what to explore and what to not. There are too much of mosquito and as soon as you enter inside you will feel why the hell you even come here.

Saw bat which was something different but very disappointed.
