Peaceful ambience, good food and place to go out with family. It's good for people who are more inclined towards silent/ low music environment than to a rock band music thingy.

Dastaan: an affair that is destined to last! Progressive? A big yes!

The location is not very prominent. Once you open the door and step inside the ambience just subtly works on your senses and you just feel good, comfortable and invited.

The ushers and the service personnel need training as they are unable to comprehend requests and communicate clearly. We felt solely on our own while making our menu choices!

The masala shikanjvi was just so perfect and refreshing. The Wake up Punjab coconut water concoction was delicious and enticing too!

For starters we had the chicken chaat cornets and palak-paneer spanakopita. Wow on presentation & taste; the dramatic entry of these ‘stars’ made heads turn our way for sure!

Daal daastani is a connoisseur’s delight and provides a tough competition to it’s Bukhara variant in a Maurya restaurant somewhere! The chicken tikka masala was nice but not superlative and the bhuna ghost was done to perfection but lost a few points on account of lack of seasoning.

The kulfi was soft, creamy, rich and the rose petals made it to the Royal pedigree. The thanda gulabjamun garam rabri is a nice show on the table but a lesser one in the oral cavity where the boss (read taste buds) reside.

All in all a truly remarkable experience. Take a bow Chef Manav. Your magic has travelled to Dastaan from Gusto and we are truly the beneficiaries of your genius - a rich blend of art, technique, taste, presentation and all this in a swell looking place - this is our story with an extremely happy ending (yes the fresh mint served post the meal is awesome as well!).

This restaurant amazed us with the creativity of the chef, the dishes and the drinks.
The ambience is warm and open and tastefully styled for a relaxed meal. The courtyard type space is air conditioned and covered but let's in pleasant light, can imagine it in winters when the roof is drawn back and one can soak in the warm rays of the sun.The service is attentive and friendly.
Master Chef Manav Suri has truly created a restaurant to delight the senses - both in terms of the visual treat and the taste buds. Each dish we had was imaginatively created and served, with a distinct touch of the master chef.
Here's what we enjoyed:
For drinks - The Udta Punjab, a vodka infused cocktail with lemon grass, kafir lime & green chilli+Coco water, dramatically served in a martini glass placed in a blue goblet of smoky dry ice; and then there was Tarbooze with water melon juice, sweet & sour, garnished with water melon + Vodka. On the Non-alcoholic side the Aamchi was refreshingly delicious - a mango slush type drink blended with jalapeno and a twist of sweet and hint of spice with a fine rim of chilli powder.
Amongst the various courses of dishes we enjoyed must call out for the vegetarians - the Palak Paneer Spanakopitas (Spinach, apple, Garlic & Paneer Baked Filo Rolls with Saffron Aioli, Micros, again very dramatically served), Artichoke Stuffed Gucci and mushroom tikkas; and for the non-veggies strongly recommend the light & tasty Chicken Biryani Aranchini(which are fresh mozzarella stuffed chicken risotto balls), the wasabi & matured Cheddar fish tikka & the basil & parmesan chicken tikka, But for all, to finish you must try the distinctive Dal Dastaani, which leaves a delectable after taste, so different from the Bukhara daal. The Dastaani Daal makhni has to be enjoyed with the charcoal naan with the Ajwaayan flavour. In the desserts the 'A Live by chocolate' and the Phirni were lip smackingly good.
A must visit restaurant to go to again & again to try out the eclectic cuisine.
