The customer service in arranging the trip and service during the trip were excellent. The boat and crew were top drawer and worked very hard to find you fish. I fished out of Manta which is a medium sized city whose primary economic generator is an extensive long line fishing fleet. This is not new news from what I came to understand. There are some very nice restaurants in town and the menu pricing is a bargain. Perhaps the fish just were not around during my trip. After all, it is fishing.
Hi , thank you for your review and for your kind words describing our service. As always we give our best for our customers to have a great time.
Regarding the longliners, it is true that there is a long line industry in the country, just like there is in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and many countries. We, as conservational anglers, try our best to educacte the population about the benefits of not killing the Billfish reserve, from a conservation and a business perspective, as well. However, the increasing demand for this product in countries like the USA and Japan , and the shaky economic stature of locals, combine to créate this business of long lining, which , again, happens everywhere in this hemisphere. Hopefully, the USA and Japan will stop asking for billfish meat.
