In the post covid era people want to get vaccinated and travel. I am one of them I have been watching the 10 day Jersey shore forecast very closely. So I made my decision to go. I wasn't disappointed. Got up at the crack of dawn and left at 6 am and arrived at 10:30 to 90 degrees. Parked my car free of charge in the hotel lot and pulled out my beach bag and chair. Spent four idyllic hours at the beach. Yes the water was cold but delightful, and so were the people. I have never met so many happy people. But the best was the Empress Hotel. Beautiful hotel and great staff. . The were very friendly and helpful. MY room was impeccable, with 2 queen beds. I was given a room on the fourth floor with an ocean view. Sliding glass doors and a couple of chairs. I am coming back to the Empress Hotel Very impressed. Thank you Doug for all your help. There is a beautiful swimming pool as well.

We dropped our bags off and went out to eat. Upon our arrival back to this crap hole, we were denied access. We left again for an hour and returned to have a drink before heading to our room for sleep. We were again denied access into the club area so we sat at a table near the bar. They brought out a tray of chips and I asked if we could have some salsa. The response I received left me sick to the stomach. They proceeded to respond with terms of queer spic and other homosexual defamation. I have never felt so verbally abused in my life. I would never recommend this place for any one to stay and I have been in some dirty places. The staff was verbally and physically abusive. The cops were called and there is a police report on file. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOMOPHOBIC RACIST ESTABLISHMENT.

My partner and I stayed here last night with our Greyhound and everything was perfect!
We had a great room on the top floor with a balcony with an amazing view. Our room was spotless and I think the mattresses were brand new. Very comfortable.
Very friendly staff and a nice continental breakfast. They were very dog friendly which means a lot.
We can't wait to return.
