If you’re looking for a unique experience that is close to the Asbury Park Boardwalk and the Atlantic, look no further than the Asbury Hotel. It is definitely a chic industrial vibe location.
Upon arrival, parking is handled by valet so don’t be too surprised if no spots are available outside the front door. Parking is unique in this area as most spots are paid parking for the day. Don’t fret though, the hotel has you covered.
The lobby is quite unique with its open concept. The main counter is not only for check in and out, but is also where fresh food can be ordered. The menu is located on the east end above the desk which is also where the grab and go section is located. A variety of seating options are available in this area as well. They also offer some old school games (free billiards for example) to socialize around. Finally, the open concept bar definitely has ties to the music history the town offers. I’d definitely recommend either an Asbury Park distillery beer or a craft cocktail unique to the area.
Heading up to the rooms, the hallways may seem a bit narrow and dark but it’s part of the vibes of the hotel. Rooms are very simple. Mainly beds, a closet, bathroom, and some nightstand furniture. Floors are concrete and no carpet which intakes a minute to get used to, especially if you are used to chain hotels. Everything was really clean and the bathroom was in pristine condition. We traveled with a family of 8 and 3 rooms had us covered.
In short, it’s a great hotel with good amenities and a wonderful short stroll to the beach and boardwalk.
