I've stayed at most of the international Suzhou hotels and know what to expect as standard. This hotel has a lot of potential but currently some big shortcomings. This staff cannot effectively cater to English speaking guests. Impossible to order room service or converse with some of the front desk personnel. I tried to order food from "Jason" the restaurant and the staff actually hung up on me.
Jason has far too narrow of a menu and does not compare to restaurants at other hotels in the area in terms of options.
I turned to the front desk to help me place a delivery order from an outside vendor and they refused.
The internet really crawls here and is just another point of frustration.
On a positive note, the rooms are nice and clean and well furnished.
Unfortunately, the incompetence in the staff is enough to make me look elsewhere, despite the good location and comfortable rooms.

The studio, with kitchen and washing machine is pretty good. Looks pretty modern with decent breakfast and modern amenities! Breakfast choices are pretty limited but definitely more then what you get in a typical chinese hotel in China! The room air conditioning is very good, and the hotel is not too far from the CBD. Overall a good experience and would stay again!

Howard Johnson Jinhope Suzhou is a nice hotel to spend a few days. It offers many in-room facilities like a big fridge, washing machine and ironing board. Room is very big and also has built-in cooking facilities and microwave. It is very convenient for staying a longer time. I was only traveling for 3 nights so I was not able to take full advantage of the room facilities.
Hotel also features a gym and swimming pool, so after a long day it is nice to get to relax at the swimming pool.

I spent there one weekend to relax.
The hotel is a bit outside the city center near the lake.
The staff was friendly, the room was huge and the breakfast was a good standard.
The inside pool and fitness center was all in a good shape. The roof terrace from the lounge was cool with an amazing view over the lake.
All in all a good Hotel
