“Temple with nice garden”
Review of Beisita

Beisita
Reviewed 19 March 2017

We were surprised to find this temple is free to visit, but I don't think it is open every day. We arrived at 15.30 after visiting the nearby (and very good) silk museum intending just to view it externally. But it was free to visit and closed at 16.00 so we were lucky. The temple buildings and pagoda are well worth a walk around and the garden is very pleasant. 30 mins is about long enough.

Another spot where you can take in the history, traditions, beauty of chinese culture. Attention to detail is perfected in these gardens.

Beisita is the tallest pagoda south of the Yangtze river. For people with a special interest in temples, it is worth visiting, but if you have a limited time in Suzhou, viewing it from outside the temple grounds is sufficient. For 25 RMB you can go in, see the hall, walk around the small garden and climb the pagoda. The view is nothing special - Suzhou is much better viewed at ground level.
