This is our third or fourth stay at the Leeman. While the quality of service, cleanliness and overall Sofitel standard is there, we found that some things were not quite to the level of our previous visits. This is likely due to a combination of low occupancy and Covid restrictions. Marc and his team are clearly doing their best and much of the Sofitel standard remains. Clean rooms, nice breakfast, beautiful grounds, lovely pools, etc. We found the move of the lounge to a meeting room on the other side of the lobby (although probably temporary) to be less comfortable. The air conditioning in our suite was great on one half and not as good in our bedroom half. We contacted the front desk and they tried to fix it but it just wasn’t quite cold enough through your stay. The Thai restaurant wasn’t open for most of our stay although it did open in a limited capacity at the end. It is still tasty! Also the pool bar wasn’t open during our stay but seemed like it might be opening soon. We were able to order drinks and ice through QR codes at the pool but it just took a little longer than if the pool bar was available. In short, we still love this property and it still the best place to stay in Haitang. Like with most organizations in China right now there’s a slight degradation of quality. I’m sure once occupancy returns and Covid restrictions abate the Sofitel will be right back up to number one.

We spent a week of holidays at this hotel, so far services are professional and courteous.
But because of the COVID’s situation, not all the services are working normally, all restaurants are not open everyday as usual.
It’s our second time in this hotel, but this time, we didn’t get the same feeling as last time stay where everything seems functioning normal like a resort place for holidays when people come there and forget about the outside world of Covid-19’s and restrictions… this time we feel like Covid-19’s is happening at the hotel until the buffet meals…
So far the kid’s club and all kids activities are still working daily.
Big swimming pool are still great and very well maintained garden ground is still nice .
We booked our stay with Sofitel sale’s services through Lilian was fast and efficient.
But we will wait a while before to come back again to Sanya because of the Covid-19’s restrictions, I guess all the hotels are following up the same rules restrictions there…
All in all, Sofitel is still a good place to stay for our holidays at Sanya.

The resort lies in the wonderful Haitang Bay near Sanya. Awesome outside area with access to different pools. Great variety which allows you different experiences throughout the day. I liked most the little beach area surrounded by tropical trees and plants.
Food was delicious, great breakfast and creative snacks and sweets for afternoon tea and happy hour.
Rooms are spacious, nice interior design without missing the view for the details.

Overall a great stay at Sofitel Leeman Sanya
