It’s quite a nice property with its semi-private beach and definitely less crowded than those at Yalong Bay. I do like the “quarters” layout of the property which reminds me of a country residence or resort for an emperor.
The room has a nice ocean view which came at a price of course. However, half of the light switches don’t work properly. For example, I can’t turn off the reading light above the bed without having to shut everything off. The Do Not Disturb bottoms by the door doesn’t work. The HDMI connection by the desk doesn’t work. Anyway, too many things nit working properly!
Most disappointing was the service at their Dining Room, your only decent choice for dinner inside the hotel. Started the evening by ordering a bottle of wine and two simple dishes. The first dish arrived in more than 30 mins only needed to be re-prepared because the waitress accidentally knocked over the bottle of wine and smashing the dish into pieces. That took another 20 mins. The second dish didn’t arrive over an hour hour. Chased them a couple of times after 45 mins only to be asked how we wanted our dish to be prepared, steam or stir fried? Even then, we had to chase one more time before it finally arrived for another 30 mins. Well that’s not acceptable for most restaurants let alone one at the Park Hyatt.
Breakfast there was an absolute zoo hit then again it’s their busy season so I can understand. Ordered two drinks at the Pool House for lunch and one drink never came despite chasing twice. Finally gave up!
Moving to the Rosewood tomorrow so hope experience will be a more pleasant one!
