Chania Town, Greece

Impressive structure, however in urgent need of a total renovation.

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Jan 2020
My family and I recently spent 4 nights here. The hotel was definetely chosen for its location and impressive construction, however totally disastrous customer service regarding westerners and the obvious signs of the hotel aging, ruined our expectations. Check in was slow, noone speaks english and there is a lot of giggling and making fun of guests when instead they should be trying to work a way through their inability to speak english. That said, important information sush as the breakfast options and transfer from and to the island were completely dismissed, one just has to improvise and find his way through... A total of 30 minutes of waiting for a car come and take us from the reception to the building were our rooms were located, upon check out we had to drag all our bags to the reception on our own as they did not understand english when we called for a bell boy...Tragic...

The room view is amazing, however missing balcony furniture! There is just one chair to sit on...

The room size ( we had a two bedroom room ) was great, however the room is in definite need of a face lift. Tiles missing from the shower, worn out furniture and in general eventhough clean, you are just left with a feeling that this used to be better...

Breakfast, once you are at the right building, is probably ok for chinese, with some choices for westerners too.

All in all, our stay was trouble free, but this is not a hotel to recommend. Not more that a 3 star hotel I would say...

The hotel looks impressive, but rooms are fairly basic and there are limited dining options (especially at lunchtime). The hotel caters mainly to Chinese clientele, so expect the usual Chinese hotel issues - although our bed was soft thankfully! There are 2 lovely pools and a great view....however there is constantly people taking wedding photographs around the pool which is very annoying and they will ask you to move if you are in their shot (even though you are a paying guest!). Location is close to the centre of Sanya and we had a really enjoyable trip. We got a good deal on the hotel, so do not regret staying here - but don't expect 4/5 star luxury as they state!

The hotel itself it’s pretty awesome. The city/ocean view we had of Sanya was amazing. Actually do not think you can get a better view anywhere in Sanya. The room itself was a studio suite and was spacious and clean.
The island is a short shuttle ride into the city. The shuttle is free. So there is no beach on the resort so you will need to get the shuttle to get to the beach. However the pool is very nice if you want to stay close by.
Breakfast is standard Chinese buffet style and decent. It is what you would expect.
No the staff do not speak well in English but honestly will go out of their way to try and get across what you need to know. So understand your in China, the staff is friendly and great!
Only part of the hotel was disappointed in was the sky bar lounge. Great views but little overpriced for drinks.
As for payment I used Alipay. China in general is difficult to use some credit cards so yes double check before you book anywhere.
Will 100% be back to this great hotel!

I was there in Sky Lounge for “High tea set”. Long time to wait for waiters in empty lounge. We were surprised that “High tea set” was without tea. There was not any “French Napoleon” like in promotion description. There was not any napkins in all lounge. We were really unhappy with quality and service for such big price.

This is a great hotel if you are Chinese citizen. If you are not, you cannot pay with your credit/debir card. You cannot connect to the internet. You cannot ask for anything because nobody speaks English and refuse to speak with you. They offer a room for two but only one breakfast. It's miserable. It's an embarrassment for the hospitality business, Hainan and China. They always have nice words to you but they won't help you or assist you. Do NOT go there if you do not speak Chinese. Try other hotels in Sanya, This looks good, but only from far away (at night)

Room tip: Learn Chinese or visit with someone who speaks Chinese.

OMG! So the hotel was really cool but it has some problems. The room was big and very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good, the shower was really big. The staff was really kind and helpful, althought they can barely speak English, so certain we have some difficulties in communicating with them. There's a transportation service to the city center, a free shuttle bus every quarter of hour 24/24.

The swimmingpools are very big and clean, but they're crowed with a lot couples and photographers that ruin the enviroment shouting and posing all day long.

Althought the hotel website and booking.com say that the resort is on the beach, this is not true and to reach the beach you have to go off the island.

Finally, I have to point out the breakfast, as it was included in the room fare it has to be upgraded. There was no western food, the juice was not juice and they served it hot, there was no butter, and the owner of the restaurant wasn't kind and continue to spitting in front of the customers, I suggest to change the breakfast service.
