An absolute jewel in the heart of beautiful and serene Yalong Bay!

My family & I recently stayed at this magnificient resort over a weekend on a short pleasure trip. Not having been to the Marriott Sanya for many years, I was extremely impressed by the lush manicured grounds, pristine beach, well kept buildings, rooms products, food & beverage outlets and most importantly, heart felt service provided by all staff to us. The General Mgr, Edmund Ko, was most gracious and regularly demonstrated his passion for looking after his guests throughout our stay. We were surprised to learn that Edmund was at that property for 16 years but has never lost his zest for excellence. We were fortunate to stay at the newly renovated 3 bedroom beachfront pool villa which is spacious, comfortable, finely appointed in decor and caters well to families and friends, corporate stays, etc. It even has its own spa & karaoke rooms making a perfect entertainment venue for smaller groups as well as its own infinity pool. Breakfast is bountiful with a wide selection of items and superb tastes from the asian region. We look forward very much to our next visit there.

As a Marriott titanium member I do not receive room upgrade. I just received a room facing mountains. Gift was three small bottles of Estee Lauder and cell phone holder. Hotel was remodeled. Pools were a little bit cramped compared to pools in Sheraton, Hilton, Ritz Carlton, and St Regis. Marriott elite members received a free afternoon tea set.

Recently my girlfriend and I spent 8 amazing, flawless days at the Marriott in Yalong Bay.
It is rather pricey, but immediate access to the private beach, a spectacular view, great breakfast and staff that is courteous, very helpful, and always smiling certainly makes up for it.
Our contact person at the from desk is Barry and he was just incredible, helping us with all sorts of things and giving us special rates, when we decided to extend (twice)...
Room service also comes around twice per day.
There is literally nothing bad to say about this hotel.
We will be back!!!

What can I say? Loyalty goes both ways. We’ve been staying at this property consistently for the last 3 years booking the nicest suite and inviting friends to join us, so Edmund the GM offered us an amazing opportunity to upgrade to the 8000+ sq foot “ villa” last week ( 8 days). All I can say is WOW. It was the BEST. Massive pool, karaoke room, saunas everywhere, just ridiculous! If you are considering Bonvoy, or in particular considering Sanya, definitely put this property at the top of your list, especially if you are traveling together with multiple families.

Room tip: Happy hour starts at 4pm at the fish bar.. go for buy one get one margaritas!

I stayed at this hotel twice in the last few weeks, once for a business conference and another time with family over Christmas/New Year period.

This is a great hotel, with great facilities (rooms, restaurants, gardens, spa, beach), but most importantly great service throughout by everyone. We had dinner at the hotel during all our three nights here, twice of which at the Japanese restaurant which was excellent.

Fully recommend this hotel to whoever plans to visit Sanya.

Had a long stay here for Christmas and New Years (December 2021 through January 1, 2022); This was a return trip to this hotel after being here in 2005 ... Came with a bunch of our friends
We knew the hotel location was great - which is still the case; Here are the positives about the hotel:
- good location and beautiful grounds/garden
- short walk to the beach
- nice pools
- the Fish Bar at the beach :-)
- nice lobby area and terrace
Now the issues with the hotel:
* Very slow and disorganized service in the bar, restaurant
* the buffet breakfast is not good - lots of dishes but really unhealthy! Let me put it this way - the fresh vegetables / salad bar on multiple mornings consisted of a big bowl of sliced onions, shredded carrots and lettuce leaves !!! no tomatoes, no cucumbers etc...
* fresh juices had to be specially requested and then the kitchen would run out of them by 9:30 am for a breakfast that goes till 11:00!
* Checking in process: we checked in at 8:30pm - surprisingly there was ONLY 1 front desk person available; the Elite desk was closed and the process took forever!
* the listing here shows 2 tennis courts -- there used to be 2 but not anymore - sometime in the last 1-2 years one of the 2 courts was converted to a Go Kart track.. so only 1 tennis court is available
