Room are as the same 2 years ago, comfortable room, only change is the 2nd floor tim sum, they have change style of serving and is a lot less choice of food, the hotel are still a smoker paradise ( can smell the tobacco smell after the previous stayer)
Stayed one night per my China agent required of my company. There were flies in the room, a cockroach climbing the wall and a very dirty bed headboard. The toilet also would not flush and was backed up or out of border. My agent is checking why this was a preferred hotel and hope some change comes on behalf of my fellow colleagues. Will not stay again or recommend.
Very local hotel and staff speak very little English. Hotel is a little old difficult to get taxi at the hotel. Concierge and bell boys didn't even have any initiative to call taxis until requested. Breakfast quality is lousy.
The hotel is old enough. Probably not for business traveler, because lots of tourist group check in. The breakfast is terrible. Location is near the train station if you want to have train after your stay. Nearby nothing. Not far from city center, but not that close. A good thing is that guest could stay for full 24 hours during your stay and no need to check out at 12pm.
Stayed here for 3 nights while in Hainan for business. Room on the 9th floor. Beds very comfortable, plenty of light and good working air conditioning in the room. Carpets quite dirty but then again I am not sure of the wisdom of Beige carpets in a hotel. Did not try the breakfast but had food in the hotel restaurant on the second floor. The food was very nice but the service slow. The bathroom amenities are plentiful, the laundry service worked well. The wifi in the room worked well and good speed. Overall a solid Chinese 5 star hotel but compared to the western standards may be around a 3.5 to 4 star. The reason for the 3.5 is that although the lobby area claims to be non-smoking, locals do not pay any attention to it. This is not an isolated issue at this hotel but a general issue in China. I don't have any issue coming back to this hotel if I ever come back to Hainan.
