I book this hotel for my husbands 40th birthday. We went with our children (5,7,9). The hotel is beautiful and the staff are lovely and very polite. The hotel is located in a perfect location which has many shops and restaurants outside.
The rooms are nice and very spacious, and the beds are soo comfortable. We had a sea view room which has beautiful views especially at night. The food options for breakfast are incredible, there is LITERALLY EVERYTHING available. We didn’t try the main buffet restaurant for lunch or dinner as was by the pool/beach or we were out. The food at Wavebreaker (by the pool) have loads of delicious food and desserts options. We went halfboard, they allow you to pick on the day if you want lunch or dinner which I thought was brilliant.
The only downfall I have to say (reason why I gave a 4 star) is we went halfboard and the drinks were not included. This is the first hotel I have been to where no soft drinks are included in halfboard. Drinks are only included in breakfast, you have to pay extra for a soft drink if you want it part of your half board. Also if you go to a à la carte restaurant for the half board option, you have a set amount of money you can spend per person which you can combine all together, the only problem we found is you can only get starter/main or main/dessert without going over your budget.
Another downfall is the pool is in the shade, it may come in hand in extreme hot weathers but going in December where the temperature was around 27 degrees, any bit of wind felt cold by the pool.
For my husband’s birthday they decorated the room and left a lovely cake in the room.
Overall we had a brilliant time and would love to come back and stay. However, I don’t think this hotel is suitable for those who have small children unless they prefer the beach, as the pool was too high for my children (the do provide life jackets for them)
