Overall this place offers fantastic food quality in a very atmospheric environment with good service, however with a fairly hefty bill, needs to pay attention to some of the smaller details if it is to maintain a true 5 star rating.
A family visit to celebrate Mother’s Day - was a surprise visit, so we could not order any of the items requiring the 24hour pre-order.
The booking was accommodated very well and with a friendly and helpful manner - especially since we changed our booking 3 times. We were a group of 7.
We arrived and were greeted very warmly and shown to our table, which was on the outdoor terrace - fantastic setting over the creek. The red carpet leading to the small stage where photos can be taken was a good addition - although has become worn in places and accumulated some dust on the stage that would seem to have been there some time- there was not a crisp look - a bit dull.
Waiter came and explained the menu very professionally and gave some good recommendations. As it was not practical to pre-order, the remaining items became a little limited in choice. Having placed our order, it was further disappointing for the waiter to return to say they did not have enough of the kebab item and we had to debate which of us wanted to change the order - this was an awkward moment around the table.
The food came - was well presented and very tasty - one of the best quality meals we have had in our time in Dubai. The pace of service was just right between appetiser and main course.
One item we ordered was finished at the table with a flambé experience- a great touch.
The bill came to almost AED 2,000 - and for this reason would expect a better attention to the details they are to truly gain a 5 star rating.
Would I re-visit ? Probably not as a group - but maybe as a couple or 4 of us.
