The hotel was ok, not sure I would say it’s 5 stars, having stayed at many 5 star hotels.
The hotel room carpet, closet and floor had scuff marks on it. There were cobwebs on top of the bathroom mirror, some furnishings and items in the room needed thorough dusting.
In saying that, the staff were nice for the most part. Hossain (housekeeping) was nice and always made our room presentable. I’m not sure if it’s his job to climb nearly to the ceiling to clear away cobwebs, and the scuff marks on the floor and furnishings are beyond the capabilities of the linen and cleaning products he has on his trolley.
What really gripe me is when I was checking out the hotel, as soon as I entered the lobby the concierge immediately ask if I was Mrs S**** to which I confirmed yes. There was a man standing there and the concierge confirmed he was my driver who would transport me to the airport (I had already pre arranged a private transport, so I immediately thought it was said driver who came into the lobby to look for me).
To my surprise, when the driver packed my suitcases in his car, another driver approached me saying he was my driver (I was confused). I soon realised that the first driver who was waiting for me in the lobby must have been working with the hotel because how would he have known my name (first and last names).
Long story short the second driver was the company I had booked and paid for (which was confirmed through me calling them and them quoting who it was booked through and also the reference number).
That really irritated me because if I had taken the first driver, I would have been expected to pay them and I would have been deceived.
The first driver could not produce any evidence of him being my driver whereas the second driver did.
I take some accountability because I should have asked for ID, but because my full name was announced and he was in the lobby at my exact pick up time I assumed he was my driver.
