Good location on quieter street close to the beautiful river, buzzy, funky atmosphere, service efficient. Chairs not very comfy and a bit squashed for space, food very good but pizza dough is too sweet. The pizzas in La Rosa are better.

Thank you for your detailed feedback!

We're glad you enjoyed our location, atmosphere, and efficient service.

We'll certainly take note of your comments regarding the chairs and space. While we're pleased you found the food very good, we apologize if the pizza dough sweetness didn't meet your expectations. We tried it after your comment and proceeded to some adjustments.

We appreciate your honesty and will strive to improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon.

Certainly now during high season the restaurant runs at a frenetic speed due to its understandable popularity. Everyone was accommodating and welcoming. The pizza was good in my opinion not outstanding but definitely worth a visit. All the staff are working so hard so it will be best to arrive with ample time for dinner. While the food is being cooked a cold on tap beer could keep you happy. The only suggestion I have is that the nachos could do with more sauce as it was quite dry.

Dear hotelmonster,

Thank you for your constructive review.

Indeed we are experiencing a high volume of customer right now.

I will share your comment with the team regarding the nachos and see if we can improve that.

Have a great day,

The management team.

We love the place. Nice music, nice food. The restaurant is full, so you have to wait some time for the pizza. That give you some time for the drink.

Their pasta was so great and cooked al dente. The pizza portion is so big. Two of us ordered a pizza and a portion of pasta and we couldn't finish the pizza. When we took away our pizza, it became soggy. So, better to finish the pizza at the restaurant.

The service, or the attitude of the maitre d'/from the of House, let this place down. There was no way to queue, or to even know there was a queue and his manner was rude and condecending to patrons. A bit of process and thinking about the customer would turn the place around. He was also desperate to leave, so refused orders so he could rush off.

Service seemed better if you were french.

Food was fine, probably the better pizza is LP though and salad was nice.

Dear UK7777,

Thanks for your comment, we are usually not asking people to queue at Popolo and have enough seats to accommodate everyone.
We are currently experiencing an unusual high volume of customers and our teams are working very hard to please everyone. We are sorry that you had to wait on that day to eat with us.

Sometimes between 2 tables and a few hasty customers we can forget to express our deepest apologies to the guests for not accommodating them immediately.
Even if we do our best to find them a table without pushing other people out (This is not our politic), we understand that the feeling of waiting outside can be frustrating. Again, those times are unprecedented, and February is a very busy month during our high season.
On the other hand, I would not call that rudeness or being condescending. A little bit of empathy and understanding from the other sides sometimes would benefit both parties, I think...

Regarding your comment about the manager being desperate to leave … well it is a little bit of an hasty assumption to us..
Since your bring that subject on the table and to clarify this confusing situation, it was either me who had to leave in order to substitute my nanny with my 3 years old daughter and 7 months old son at 20.00pm (Yes we do have a family !) or our manager who was responding from a call to help our second restaurant in the main street.

But believe us at no point we were refusing orders or making difference between French speakers or other customers.

On a personal note, I would like to point out that when being ask (which happen quite often 😊) I also answer that my favorite customers are British people and Japanese ..
Have a great day,

Thibault
