My experience was extremely disappointing and unpleasant. Despite charging $12 for an extra bed, they refused to accommodate my 8-year-old child. Instead, they suggested booking a separate room for the child. Dealing with such unaccommodating staff makes any leisure or business trip unnecessarily difficult and unpleasant. Will never come back to this hotel again.

Very professional and attentive staff, the breakfast buffet was outstanding, and I managed to try the room service once during my stay, it was delicious, and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The cafe on the 1st floor of the hotel, Baku Cafe, was very modern and comfy in design.

Hotel is located on the other side of Pharos University, and right next to a mosque. Keep that in mind if you are sound sensitive because of the early morning muezzin singing.
The area itself is ugly and not worth anything for tourists. The hotel has a fairly good lobby; staff very friendly and competent. Several elevators. My room was very spacious and equipped with everything I needed, incl. a fridge, coffee-tea maker, Bed was pleasant; I got a good night's sleep. Breakfast is included, which is typical Egyptian, with warm food (grilled veggies, refried beans, boiled eggs, goat cheese, a variety of breads, small danish, and some fruit. Outside, a cook prepares you an omelette, very nice. Wifi worked well in the hotel throughout. Clean hotel, a big plus for Egypt. Bathroom was roomy, with a shower. I would return there, if I had something to do in that area. It seems to be frequented by young local sport teams, but there was no noticeable noise from the inside.

Very nice rooms and bathroom in good condition (i.e. Western standards). The staff are efficient and friendly and booking in was very quick. The only problem I had was with trying to read in the room as the main lights are very weak.
The restaurant also had very efficient staff and there is a good working atmosphere amongst the team. The dessert to die for is "Om Ali" (mother of Ali), an Egyptian classic, with puff oastry, cream, almonds, raisins and pistacchio nuts. First time and we had 2 portions it tasted so good.

The hotel staff are very professional and friendly the room was well cleaned , no hidden fees or taxes and I will go there again .
The reason for the booking was to make sure that my family can be near an international school to set for an exam so if this is your case as well then this hotel in Smouha is a very good option .
