Good:
- Nice newly refurbished pool. Very clean pool area and lifeguards on duty during open times. Provide pool towels and ample sun beds even during peak periods.
- Very big sized rooms (but also have smaller rooms) - we booked 2 different types. Clean enough, but could improve.
- Across Montazah palace with good views of palace and sea + sunset
- Very comfortable beds + hot water through out.
- Have a changing /locker room with hot showers if you have a slightly late check out but no availability to extend. This is a good +++
- Supermarket next door, pharmacy and a restaurant just at the doorstep.
- Close to (paid) beach area which is less busier than central areas.
- Free and good wifi speeds
The not so good...
- Very dated rooms and old furniture (but this is common in Egypt even at some 5* properties). Given it is a 3* and for the price paid this is acceptable to me. Some updating of rooms and furniture, this resort could probably charge 3X what they do now.
- Bathroom in bigger room a bit small, in smaller room it was the opposite!
- Breakfast is very limited selection (tang juice), egg station. Some food items can run out towards the end of breakfast time so try to get there early.
- Strict about check out time (explained they were busy) but allowed us to continue to use the pool area for an extra hour which was nice of them. The reception did ask to confirm though when we were planning to leave.
- Good food when ordered however be careful not be overcharged. Again it has been my common experience in Egypt so check your receipts even if it is in Arabic!
- Few staff speak English, restaurant staff do not so can be a bit of an issue. Reception staff speak English,
- Front parking a bit messy for pick and drop (5 mins free or 15 mins free if you get a hotel voucher from reception), But they have their own parking at the back of the hotel.
- A fair distance from central Alex and still very busy area and can be a bit noisy, but I still managed to sleep through all the train sounds and beeps. After all you are in Alexandria so enjoy the hustle and bustle of this town.
