This hotel offers very poor value and though advertised as a 4 Star hotel, is only a 2 to 3 Star hotel in reality.
Room- Old and tatty 80's decor/ bed linen/ curtains in the room and badly needs a refurb. Shower ran hot & cold and the actual shower head holder was broken - it would be a definite safety issue getting into the bath, for an older person. Towels in room were old and tatty and far too small. No iron or tea/ coffee facilities or kettle in the room. No complimentary water or food provided either. All of the above I would expect as a minimum standard in a 4 star hotel at £200+ per night.
Swimming Pool - Very dirty and no staff around pool area to carry discarded towels and rubbish- glass left around pool area which could have been dangerous. Old and broken loungers & umbrellas badly in need of an upgrade. No pool towels supplied at all, which again is a minimum standard of a 4 Star hotel.
Food- Breakfast served the worst coffee (undrinkable) and fruit juice (nuclear ingredients) I've experienced in a very long time. Didn't eat dinner here, but it seems only a 1970's buffet style is on offer. Some of the dinner items seem to reappear again in the morning - sliced banana & chocolate sauce anyone?
Service - No staff on hand at hotel bar during the day, or at the wellness center reception desk at any point in the 3 days. Reception staff appeared terse and unfriendly on arrival. No atmosphere in any of the public areas of the hotel. Thankfully lots of restaurants and bars only a short walk away in Lapad, which offered lots of good choice and quality.
View - Only positive comment is the view of the stunning bay from the balcony in the room - choose a 4th floor sea view room though. (the park view, is basically some waste land at the back of the hotel)
Summary - The nearby Hotel More and Hotel Kompas across the bay offer much better value and a 'true' 4 star standard experience - worth paying the extra £50 per night for a room in either! Some of the previous reviewers have described this as a bouquet hotel - I'm just wondering whether they've got confused with the word bucket.......
