Not what a Marriott should be….

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Apr 2023via mobile
Not what I excepted for a AC Marriott. I requested a city view, what I received was a view of a back of a building. The room I would rate a 1 or 2. First time I had a room with no bathroom doors. If I was traveling alone there would not be a problem but it should have been stated because I would have stayed somewhere else. The breakfast or so called breakfast is more of a you would expect in a Low end hotel. Very disappointing. The staff was very very first class. Now if you are a single guy this is a great place. There is a place 50 feet away which has over 100 girls to pick up each night.

No housekeeping service during our 2 night stay and bars were seldom staffed. The biggest negative was no bathroom door and glass see thru doors for shower & toilet. Absolutely no privacy,
The rooftop pool & hot tub were very nice and the customer service in lobby was really good. Tatiana was very helpful during our stay.

The first night of our stay on the Bonvoy elite floor we were woken up about 2 a.m. with a loud bang - the bathroom ceiling fell in and water was dripping from the walls soaking the entire floor. We were moved to another room which seemed very poorly maintained. The light socket in the bathroom was exposed and their were holes in the wall that were covered with just a thin layer of wallpaper. There was electric humming noises and ants in the bathroom. The floor had soft spots or holes that had been covered with linoleum. Front desk staff were nice but never responded to my request to speak with management about the ceiling. After the stay three weeks ago I emailed twice before reviewing and still no response.

Room tip: The hotel is next to a brothel so expect to be approached by prostitutes looking for clients. The hotel pool has only three lounge chairs.

It was out first time in Panamá and we really liked this hotel. Great location in the heart of the city, close to convenience stores, grocery store, restaurants and shops. The hotel staff is super nice and friendly. The rooftop terrace with the pool is wonderful and has a breathtaking view of Panamá City. We will come back!

I’m really impressed with the experience at this hotel. The property is attractive, and what you wouldn’t expect is just how great the kitchen is. There’s no room service, but the AC Kitchen has such a great selection of food options that you will want to stop by.

Fish tacos had far too many onions, but a terrific pineapple sauce.

What they called chicken mignon was more like chicken wrapped with bacon. But, it was still delicious. Served with a thick wine sauce.

The grilled chicken sandwich is solid, but the baguette really elevates it.

We had both the salmon and the bass, and both were good, though overcooked. Next time, I’ll as for them to not be cooked for so long. The risotto and the mashed potatoes are good, too.

Everything we ate here was good, and fairly inexpensive. This is a great fallback if you decide to stay close to the room for the day.

The location of the hotel is decent: it’s very close to a casino, and a variety of restaurants and shops, but my wife was concerned about walking around there at night.

The beds are firm, and the pillows are lumpy, so pack a pillow.

The TV is fantastic: maybe 100 channels, including premium channels (HBO, Cinemax) and multiple sports channels, most in English.

While more expensive hotels may be in a better part of town, you are a very cheap Uber ride away from just about anywhere (seriously…it was no more than $5 to get around). Well worth a return visit.

Room tip: Bring a pillow…these pillows are lumpy!

I had a loft suite on the 14th floor of this hotel, which was only accessible with a key. As two women travelling alone, that made us feel safe. The novelty of having a spiral staircase for a full-sized bedroom and bathroom (no tub) was not only fun-but functional. There is also a full-sized (shower and toilet/sink) in the downstairs loft area as well. Access to the pool and rooftop bar was also a plus for these limited rooms. We never were disturbed by guests visiting the pool area behind the security door! The infinity pool wasn't huge, but just right for a day of lounging. We came during the rainy season, so the happy hour that was planned was cancelled, as there were showers (even briefly) every day. The one day that it didn't rain was also the day that we enjoyed the breathtaking views. The staff here are excellent. They were attentive, pleasant and overall seemed geniunely appreciative of the customers visting their establlishment. We were celebrating my sister's milestone birthday and she was lavished with attention from the breakfast staff. As vegetarians, the breakfast wasn't expansive, but plentiful with fresh fruit and tasty carbs like a variety of breads and sweets. There was an option of omelets, cheese and meats for the non-vegetarians. I had freshly made green juice every morning as a start to our day! This botique hotel is centrally located in Panama and close to several restaurants, grocery stores and roads. Nearby is a 24 hour diner, where there are prostitutes (which is legal in Panama) but we never felt unsafe, even walking alone at night. This was my first time visiting Panama, and I am so pleased to have been a guest at this hotel. The staff is wonderful!

Room tip: 14th Floor Suite is a Must for Couples and Families with older kids.
