The wine tasting visit at the welcoming and friendly Tempus Vini Wine Point has been one my most gorgeous recent experiences in Sofia. I had the pleasure of tasting five varieties of exquisite and elegant Bulgarian wines and comparing them with a rich and robust red Italian. Kalin, the owner of the wine shop, was, as always, very generous to offer some unique Bulgarian brandies and we shared stories about home-made rakia. Kalin is a an amazing guy: not just a knowledgeable oenophile, but also a true and passionate wine steward. He can tell you anything about vineyards, wineries, grapes and regions from places like South Africa or a tiny inconspicuous hill in Tuscany, to brand new Bulgarian wine projects and small wine producers from all parts of Bulgaria. We had a nice chat till late in the evening, we bought several bottles and went home with light hearts and pleasant flavour on our lips.
