Typically when we visit Suva, we would stay at GPH, but we decided to try Holiday Inn this last trip We had four rooms booked, two with breakfast and two without breakfast. We were trying to compare the difference in cost eating at the hotel versus going out for breakfast. It was cheaper to eat outside but not much cheaper. So it is worth booking with breakfast.
The check in process was great. The staff were quite welcoming. The gentlemen at the front entrance were friendly and curious. Love their questions and curiosity to learn about our family and where we were from. They were really excited to learn that some of our family members had roots in Fiji. The one negative is that the rooms were not situated close to each other. We had two rooms on one side of the hotel and two on the opposite side of the hotel. We had kids in two of the rooms so that was not good for us. Even though we asked ahead that the rooms be close to each other.
Parking can be an issue if you are driving. Some nights when we got back late to the hotel, the parking lot is usually full and take awhile to find parking. The hotel can be busy especially the lobby area because there is a bar right next to the lobby. It was not a huge deal for us but something to be aware. Service was fine and rooms were clean. I think it was a good alternative to consider if you want to try a different hotel from GPH.
