Driving into Nambuka resort can feel a little daunting for the 1st time. It's 6km of winding gravel road, off the main highway, through beautiful farmland and hills. Cresting the final hill, the sparkling ocean reveals itself, with quaint villas on its door step.
It's a fijian family run resort, all food is freshly prepared, from the market, ocean or farm.
Service is remarkable, any need responded to by the smiling Ole or Simi.
A must try is the fresh lobster, caught from the reef and prepared and served as a traditional Fijian curry. I'll return just for that dish, it was amazing.
The villas are comfortable, quiet with individual porches overlooking the incredible ocean vista. The shower is separated by glass doors, with the roof open to the sky, lovely showering under the stars. The sea breeze was a constant gentle factor coming through the balcony screen doors. All windows are screened and overhead fans made the stay very comfortable.
The snorkeling directly in front of your villa is breathtaking, vibrant fish, blue starfish, gossamer corals. It's very much untouched compared to other parts of the reef I snorkelled on the coral coast.
Simple delicous food with very reasonable prices, kind customer focused service and a abundance of natural beauty I recommend Numbuka lagoon bay resort.
Be comfortable and almost off grid with no television, or pool and there is mobile internet coverage all the time, but with wireless from 6pm.each night.
