Bula. First time in Fiji. Didn't have any prior expectations. The staff and team were amazing, friendly and typically warm in the famous Fijian way. Vinaka.

Resort badly needs basic maintenance.

We booked a beach Bure almost right at the end of the complex. Everything was good in the room, but the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The back of the bathroom door was absolutely filthy from hand prints and had not been cleaned for a long time. The shower taps were leaking and had dirty brown stains going down the wall. There was a large section of paintwork falling off the wall outside above the outside bath. The entry door striker plate had been built out by about 10mm and not painted to match. Considering the amount we paid, one would have expected basic maintenance to be done.

This is a very friendly resort with welcoming staff and a nice atmosphere. The huts that you stay in are a reasonable size and there is a bath and shower outside in your own little outside part but there is one inside too. The swimming pool is quite cold and we didn't end up going in it on our 2 night stay because of the temperature even though we wanted to. However, for the area it is quite good value but could do with an upgrade. Overall, this is a very nice place.
Room tip: The coast is pretty but less so at low tide and the sand isn't white, meaning the sea isn't turquoise and beautiful.

Do not book at Hideaway Resort. This was by far the worst experience we’ve ever come across in Fiji.
The staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming.
Upon arrival, the older man at reception that helped us with our bags wolf whistled at us as soon as we got out of the car, this really set the tone as soon as we arrived and made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe from the get-go.
99% of interactions we had with the staff were not pleasant as if we were a burden to them, even just asking for a pool towel. Which was given to us dirty and had stains all over it.
The breakfast service was not replenished during service, and menus were not served to us until we asked for them.
I would say that the only good thing about the resort was that it was a home for a litter of friendly kittens, however once we found mice scurrying around the room, we made the assumption that they are there as the resorts lazy attempt at pest control. Clearly not working.
Long story short - we packed our bags and checked out of the resort as soon as we could and went looking for better accomodation.
Room tip: Just don’t book here.

Fiji Hideaway is about 1.5 hours drive from Nadi Airport. From the moment we arrived we felt like home. We love the layout, it feels like a village. The Bures have enough space. The ocean view is spectacular and hearing the sound of the ocean while sleeping is unbeatable. There are all kinds of activities- next door village tour, kayaks, snorkeling, glass bottom boat, fire dancing,….breakfast offers continental and/ or American style- included in the room rate. The Staff are absolutely wonderful- everyone greets you, asks your name, calls you by your name, and it’s Genuine! Not just because they are paid to do it. They are genuinely kind! Would stay again! Bula Vinaka!!!
Room tip: Expect to be far from things in Vito Levu. Hire a car to tour other areas
