rural, convenient. The swimming pool is nice after a day in the heat. The included car is welcome too. As I said some animals (dogs and chicken) can be noisy at night.
Owners were really nice and helpful.
If, like us, you dislike resorts you will love this place. The early morning noise is part and parcel of escaping the tourist areas. Lyn met us at the airport and gave us lots of really useful information for our stay. The place is totally fly wired, which does make it dark but we prefer that to mosquitoes! The pool was a real bonus. It was so easy with the car to get around with no hassle. We used the kitchen each night to cook dinner. We didn't find the supermarkets too expensive and the Nadi market is certainly. not expensive at all. If you are looking for fish and it is not Saturday or Sunday, you will need to ask for the "Slice Fish" shop. We got 3 meals for two people, including 2 of tuna for $7.50 Fijian. No expensive at all!

This is not the place to stay in February as it has no air conditioning. It is very dark inside as you need to close the shutters to keep sun out. The lights produce lots of heat so you don't want to turn those on.(Fluorescent would be better.) The bathroom lights did not work when we were there.
The pool, however, was lovely! It is cool, clean and private. We went in about every 1.5 hours to cool off. The other way to cool off is to go for a ride in the car.
The cottage is right next to a dusty, noisy road. While we were there the neighbours burned garbage, etc. almost every night.
Enjoyed our stay here. Arriving at night made it feel like we were miles from anywhere but with the car it was only 10 minute drive to Nadi and airport.
Nice little house and the pool was great to have, could just do with a BBQ area.

Staying in this house with the car gives you a great opportunity to explore the real Fiji, not the plastic version found in the big resorts. Lynn very kindly picked us up from the airport, and she can suggest areas to explore. The house has a good kitchen (including oven) but we didn't eat in much as supermarket prices are high, which makes restaurants quite reasonable. But definitely do stop at the roadside stalls to buy wonderful fruit - mangoes, pineapples, pawpaws and much more! The house pool is lovely and refreshing after a hot day out driving & exploring, with a great view out to the mountains from the balcony. Its particularly stunning at sunrise and you will probably see that, as this is not the place to stay if you want to sleep in. The dogs bark a lot at night and roosters start very early but that's normal in the Pacific, so embrace it and use the extra time to explore.
