After staying five nights at a luxurious resort the Mercure Nadi required an emotional adjustment. We booked here because we were flying out early the next morning. When we checked in, we were advised the AC wasn’t working and they would give us a fan instead. But didn’t we pay for a hotel WITH an AC? No form of compensation was offered. A discounted tariff or at least a drink voucher? The rooms were clean but very “old,” fortunately the fan worked but we couldn’t sleep with the windows open because it felt unsafe, and people were smoking on the balconies. We had a look at the breakfast before we checked out and it looked very ordinary. The staff were all very kind, but they didn’t ask if we enjoyed our stay when we checked out. I guess they expected we might complain. This hotel is not of Mercure standard. It is very expensive for this standard. Management should be ashamed.
