Always a good airport hotel to transit in for a night before the long flights back to Asia or the US.
It’s about a five minute walk from international arrivals or you can take the free shuttle bus that does a loop every 10-15 minutes. (It’s about a ten minute walk to international departures.)
There’s a flight monitor at the hotel.
Staff are very kind and helpful and all will give you the famous Fijian welcome.
Rooms are spacious and clean, albeit a bit dated. Bathroom is however redone and also spacious with a nice wood laminate floor.
Food is good and fairly priced. You can actually get some salads and vegetarian options which is sometimes hard to come by in the Pacific. Breakfast starts at 5:30 AM which is perfect for early morning check ins.
There are just two negative points:
1. Free WIFI only works at the bar, lobby and restaurant area. You have to pay for accessing the WIFI in your room. In this day and age free WIFI in guest rooms should be a standard at an airport hotel. This also means that guests are sitting around the common areas accessing WIFI, so it can be hard to get a seat.
2. The hotel has rooms on two floors. There are two flights of stairs to access the second floor and no lifts. Major design flaw for an airport hotel where everyone has luggage. The receptionist was kind enough to help me carry my 23 kilo bag up those stairs, but she shouldn’t have to do this.
Other than that, they’ve nailed what a good airport hotel should be.
