Convenient, Clean, Good Food and Service

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Aug 2024via mobile
Always a good airport hotel to transit in for a night before the long flights back to Asia or the US.

It’s about a five minute walk from international arrivals or you can take the free shuttle bus that does a loop every 10-15 minutes. (It’s about a ten minute walk to international departures.)

There’s a flight monitor at the hotel.

Staff are very kind and helpful and all will give you the famous Fijian welcome.

Rooms are spacious and clean, albeit a bit dated. Bathroom is however redone and also spacious with a nice wood laminate floor.

Food is good and fairly priced. You can actually get some salads and vegetarian options which is sometimes hard to come by in the Pacific. Breakfast starts at 5:30 AM which is perfect for early morning check ins.

There are just two negative points:

1. Free WIFI only works at the bar, lobby and restaurant area. You have to pay for accessing the WIFI in your room. In this day and age free WIFI in guest rooms should be a standard at an airport hotel. This also means that guests are sitting around the common areas accessing WIFI, so it can be hard to get a seat.

2. The hotel has rooms on two floors. There are two flights of stairs to access the second floor and no lifts. Major design flaw for an airport hotel where everyone has luggage. The receptionist was kind enough to help me carry my 23 kilo bag up those stairs, but she shouldn’t have to do this.

Other than that, they’ve nailed what a good airport hotel should be.

The only thing better than a hotel close to the airport with an efficient shuttle bus, is one that's so close you can even walk. The Gateway ticks these boxes, and we had intended to walk the 250m to the hotel, but that would have involved walking past the bus driver, which seemed a bit unfriendly so we ended up catching the bus anyway. But It's always nice to be so close that walking is an option. The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are large.

Great location if you have to overnight in Nadi. You can walk from the airport terminal to hotel. But there is also a free shuttle that runs any time. Staff very helpful and friendly. I had a deluxe room and it was very spacious. But aircon not working very well and a bit of a bug problem.

Beautiful hotel, great pool, extremely nice people. This is a great place for a stopover or as a base for a longer stay.

We stayed here for three nights at the start of our trip. Anticipating our 6 am arrival we stared our reservation a day early so we could head steigst to our room and take a nap. For three days I felt like a welcome guest

Rooms: clean, good space to unpack, good AC
Pool: beautiful tile work. The slide is faster than it looks-very fun
Grounds: we didn’t play tennis but we saw people enjoying the courts.
Restaurant: we ate very meal in the Palm Court. Delicious food, especially the chicken satay and the curries.
People: everyone was very helpful and friendly. Our favorite waitress, Seinimelia, was especially kind and welcoming. She went above and beyond to recommend food choices, ask about our day, and answer questions about language and culture.
Location: right across from the airport
They have a shuttle but it’s a quick walk

Day pass: on our return trip we had a 12 hour layover in Nadi. For $40 Fijian we got a pool towel, access to the pool, grounds, and shower and the $40 is credit at the restaurant. Lovely!

Room tip: Gets busy during New Zealand school vacations so book ahead

My first time in this hotel. Not cheap, quite expensive for standard and facilities. Staffs are friendly and attentive, especially front desk and housekeeping, kudos.
Pool is big and clean. Very nice pool.
Due to high occupancy i have to take 2 types of room for my short medical trip. I am not local but working in Fiji. Not European either.
My first day, i reached at around 3.30pm , room still not ready. My first room, spacious, clean Deluxe Pool View . I dont go out much as I am not feeling well, however in the room , I am entertain with nice TV channels, various selection ( not many hotels in Fiji have various TV channel. The reception sternly remind me the next day I need to check out from that room at 10am and move to suite room ( which I paid a handsome rate too $415plus plus) a bit higher than my first room. 11am, the room still not ready, I am about to sleep and waiting, so torturing as Im not well. I have to keep asking the receptionist when to move as per them, i cannot extend in my current room as it been booked. About 2pm , finally they told me i can move now. Restless..
They brought me to new room, Suite, this room is worst room i have been ever. Walking in like walking into a morgue , the room was dark, big, empty except bar, damp carpet smell and they tried to cover with lots lots air freshener spray. I almost choked. What I am trying to say, if you ever book this property, DO NOT go for Suite option. Old room, smell bad , no fresh air , dark and empty. And expensive , not worth the price.
I insisted to change room.
However food are great with reasonable price, but F&B team will be asking you to put tips in each bill the submit🤦‍♀️

Room tip: Things to avoid - do not book suite room its an old room and smell damped NO FREE WiFI in room .

Was so great! Currently writing this review in front of their (quite large) pool, which is really clean, perfect temp, and has a super fast water slide!

Quite nice food, would highly recommend their BLT panini, nice clean, simple rooms, friendly staff.

Room tip: The waterslide is unexpectedly fast, be prepared! Food is good if a bit expensive
