“Perfect Location in Historic Cuenca”
Reviewed 17 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

When visiting Cuenca, the Pumamaqui Accomodations and hosts, Stu and Patricia White, will guarantee your stay is comfortable, secure, and authentic. We stayed for 5.5 weeks in one of the studio apartments and were, once again, extremely happy with the location to Calle Larga, the Escalinata, and many restaurants and cafes including Colombian, Cuban, Persian, Thai, Peruvian and The Windhorse. This was our second stay here as we realized you can't find better with its modern bathrooms, washer/dryer, well-equipped kitchen and beautiful, private courtyard. If you are interested, book your reservation early as the four apartments are very popular and some reserve for months at a time. We highly recommend the Pumamaqui Accomodations!!

Stuarts property is a hidden gem in el centro. A short walk to a variety of shopping, dining, and interesting sites to see. Should you decide to take a day and kick back "at home" for a little respite, the apartments are very comfortable and secure with a relaxing courtyard. Stuart is a font of knowledge, information, and tips to help you navigate Cuenca, or daytrips around the area and experience whatever it may be that you are interested in.

“Our stay at Stuart's loft apartment was a truly great experience which we have shared with friends and family.”
Reviewed 1 November 2016 for a stay in July 2016

In a word Stuart was very friendly and made my wife Glenda and I feel immediately at home and comfortable: He met us on our arrival and showed us where we were located relative to the main landmarks of Cuenca: the market; Calderon Park; the main streets, and recommended a great place to get coffee ( around the corner from the Apartment).
This was our 1st time to Cuenca and the loft apt was perfect for us: very clean and functional. It truly is in the heart of old Cuenca; yet very private and quiet and the flower garden and patio area which is the first thing you see as you enter the premises created a very relaxing space to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or a coffee in the morning. We enjoyed our two week stay at the apt. immensely and it is our plan to return to Cuenca in the very near future. The location is excellent and Stuart was always available by phone if we had any questions or needed anything. This is a great place.

My husband and I along with several friends stayed at these very nice studio apartments in El Centro-Cuenca, Ecuador. They are so centrally located it is perfect. I cannot think of any flashy, descriptive words to assure individuals to rent these apartments except you will NOT be disappointed in any way with the apartments. Stu and his wife, Patricia are some of the finest people I have met, -super accommodating- and the studios are everything you see and read about and more!

Liked best: Studio and it's courtyard itself and location to downtown, safe and secure
Liked least: In two of the studios ...there are narrow stairs to the bedroom but workable.

First time in Ecuador. Stayed the whole month. Found the location to be perfect for walking both the historic city and the newer portions. Great restaurants on every block. Lots of info and maps in the apartment. Stu and Patricia were great hosts and very helpful with fine tuning our various excursions. The bed was comfortable but the nights were generally noisy with car alarms going off. There is also two karioki bars on the block that blast on weekend nights. Don't know if you could avoid that anywhere in Cuenca. Enjoyed our time here.
