I stayed at Mauricio's apt for nearly a week. I really liked the safe location. I could walk to nice restaurants, the metro and a decent grocery store. The pics are acurate of the apartment. It was quiet. The wifi and tv all worked well. There was a very helpful binder - eg. how to work the cooktop. The owner sent detailed emails about restaurants in the area, shops, activities which I used. Monica was in charge of letting me in and checking up and she is very nice and speaks excellent English. I highly recommend this apartment and will pass off the details to my friends. It was a lovely stay.
Everything you need in Santiago, for a very comfortable stay, is in this apartment. Nearby the apartment you will find supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, bars, pharmacies, kiosks, beautiful churches, parks, and more. Transportation is a plus; two blocks away is the Metro Manuel Montt, buses, taxis, and Uber at the tip of your fingers. Maurico and Monica will do anything to make you feel at home. I highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Santiago. Can’t wait to go back☺
The apartment is ideally located, close to restaurants, cafés, bakery and grocery stores. Subway is two blocks away so you can get into centre town in 10 minutes. You get a unique view on the mountain from the apartment terrasse. You can get a great view on the whole city and the surrounding mountains by using the funicular which is within a walking distance from the apartment. The owner offers a cellphone that you can refill and use for local calls which was very helpfull when we needed to call for taxis and get in touch with our friends. The wifi connection is fast and reliable. Even though we did not use the kitchen much but we foung out that it was the best equipted kitchen we ever got in the different places we have rented out in the past. Monica was most helpful.
From booking to departure, Mauricio, his sister and staff were constantly available to handle our questions, to guide us, even provided pickup from our cruise ship in Valparaiso and our ride to the airport. The apartment itself was exactly as advertised... cozy, very well supplied and near to the sights, subway and restaurants. The neighbourhood is charming and walkable. We enjoyed the balcony with views of cable cars on the mountain, the rooftop pool and laundry in the building. Although we spoke no Spanish, the concierges were helpful as well. Thanks for making our first trip to Santiago so easy. It won't be our last!
My husband and I stayed for five days at this lovely condo at the end of our cruise. It is a smaller apartment, but it is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It has the perfect location in the city - a few blocks from the metro and a grocery store, and even nearer to smaller cafes, including one around the corner and one right downstairs. A performing arts theater is a block away.
The view from the apartment is beautiful and we had our breakfast as well as evening drinks on the comfortable balcony supplied with table and chairs. The sunset over Cerro San Cristobal is lovely, and on a clear day, we could see the snow-covered Andes.
The apartment was pretty well supplied, although I would recommend more bath towels and a few more everyday kitchen items, such as potholders (oven mitts). The TV and wi-fi worked well, and we used the safe. It was nice having a doorman to see who was coming and going, and the coin washers and dryers worked well.
There is some noise in the area including barking dogs, but we liked the area very much. The furniture was comfortable and in good condition. The air conditioning is only in the living room, so we had to turn it colder so that we were comfortable in the bedroom and bathroom, but it was sufficient.
The best part of our experience was having Mauricio and Monica looking out for us. The communication with each of them was excellent. We had asked Mauricio before our trip for a list of restaurants, churches and grocery stores that might be open late in the afternoon of Christmas Eve, when we would be arriving, and he supplied an exhaustive list via e-mail with their addresses and some info including their hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He even attempted to find a particular kind of restaurant that would be open on Christmas Eve for cruise friends of ours. Mauricio offered to have Monica pick up groceries we might need ahead of time, since she is the local contact. He contacted us also via telephone and WhatsApp and was always available.
We contacted Monica on Christmas Day to ask her if the funicular might be opened, and she was very helpful even though celebrating with her family. She also arranged dining reservations at a special restaurant for us, and came to check us out and say good-bye as the end of our stay. I would highly recommend this apartment and these hosts for your stay.
