Spent three nights here on our first visit to Chile and enjoyed our stay. Very helpful, friendly staff. Rooms spacious and comfortable, breakfast included. Excellent outdoor/pool area. Great central location in a very quiet street. We are coming back.

We stayed there at the beginning of our trip to Ushuaia and on the way down there we never met a better hostel. The atmosphere is because of the age and style of the building very cool. A lot of people from all over the world are spending the night there and the bar is their meeting place. The rooms are as well with high ceilings and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok and we will stay there again when we will come back to Santiago.

Despite the building being old you can’t help but being impressed. Yes it could do with a paint but it’s clean and has everything that you need.
About 15min walk from the Armas square, not far from bus and tube route it’s very handy for most things. Our room was clean and tidy and met all our needs. The building has a few quirks, the floor boards creek like mad, door are difficult to lock but that’s about it.
Breakfast was shall we say light but that’s probably due to a group of older Europeans who are almost everything and the smuggled their packed lunch out.
The staff were very helpful and friendly a great hostel and well worth staying there.

This place is conflicting for us. There is extensive social space - a pool, a terrace, a pool side bar, a game area, tv area, multiple lounge areas. All have tired looking furniture throughout it. The room and bathroom are very tired and shaggy, not in the best condition. The walls are dirty and the paint is peeling everywhere. The towels are dishcloth thin, cannot be called white, and are torn with straggly edges and there are holes throughout them. There was food left throughout the shared kitchen (half eaten sandwich, lemons, garbage), and smelly spills in the shared fridge. The WiFi does not work in the rooms unless you are near the front desk. However, the staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Location is great as we were minutes walk from main areas. The breakfast was simple but good.

We appreciatte your comments and suggestions. We have been improving many things in the hostel lately. We do not agree with what has been said regarding the furniture since from the beginning of this year it has been changed and / or reupholstered. The same happens with our bedding and towels. The situation of the kitchen often has to do with the same guests who stay and leave things. We have a protocol to throw what is not marked some specific days in the week, however, sometimes when we have thrown things in the trash some guests have claimed us for throwing their food. It is a difficult situation to cope with and it needs empathy from the rest of the guests to understand it and not to criticize it lightly. The wi fi service has improved a lot since we have finally achieved a new technology to be able to have a better connection, however, the company providing the service is still making some adjustments, which we hope will improve the service even more. There are 3 signs in the hostel and they really cover the whole building, not just the front desk area.

I think the best part about this Hostel is the location. The. Rooms are average. The floors are very old wooden floors in need of a lot of attention. If you stayed on the main floor you could hear all those staying above you. The kitchen fridge needs cleaning out once every in a while. People come and go and leave food that is left behind and never cleaned out.

Thanks for your comment, however, we´d like to clarify some negative points mentioned here. This a colonial house built in 1910. Apart from being renovated for us to convert it in a hostel, there places that are part of the architecture itself and difficult to handle, like the wooden floors for example. Nevertheless, we are actually working on an improvement for these. Rooms are very spacius, well decorated and with high ceilings, never categorized as average. The guests kitchen fridges are cleaning twice a week to through away things that guests leave in fact. You didn´t stay enough to freely say that they (because we have 2 and I don´t know if you just took a look at 1 of them) were never cleaned out. And also you should understand that there is a share of responsibility of the passengers themselves who do not care about throwing away the things that they leave in bad condition or that they will not use once they finish their trip.
