A Lovely Place To Stay With Wonderful Staff

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Jul 2024via mobile
I enjoyed my stay at Casa Bueras very much! My room was very clean and spacious, and the staff was so good to me. I actually had my phone stolen on my last day in Santiago, and Rodrigo and Nicolas we’re so kind and helpful and letting me use the hotel computer so I could email my family to let them know what happened. I was traveling alone, so they made me feel not so alone, and it was a comfort having them there to help me.

The breakfast was lovely, and it’s overall just a very comfortable, nice boutique hotel. I highly recommend you stay here if you’re in Santiago!

1st time in Chile. Spent over a week at Casa Bueras hotel. Great location. Out of the fray of Lastarria. But close enough to walk safely. Close to Bellavista (how can you not visit since funicular and cable car are close as is Neruda house). Close to Belle artes and downtown sights. Uber mainly. Hotel arranged airport pickup and a tour. Breakfast is solid albeit routine. Staff are very pleasant and eager to help. Downtown can feel a little sketchy but I never felt unsafe. Always people around. Go to main street when exiting hotel rather than two right turns if nervous. Fyi got stranded in the new downtown (Constanaro center)twice since inadequate Uber and didi was spotty and needed cash and cabify will not work with a usa number. If police are nearby Uber drivers cancel. No problem in old downtown. Innumerable rooftop bars closeby. Confirming Cousino Macul bike vineyard premium worth it. Not commercial. Take an Uber after to famous Bhai temple further views. Signs said no alcohol butno one stopped us with our purchases. Stayed in terrace. Not needed since lovely grounds. Some noise Friday night from Lastarria but garden rooms wouldn't have. Held luggage to evening flight securely. Skip seafood and vegetable central market or approach from the east side to minimize hustlers. Italia great. Wished we saw Cousino museum palace. She was one of Chile's most prominent woman and brought Edison to Chile. Walked generale cemetery- she and interesting. Quitral and Bocanáriz recommended restaurants

This is a charming hotel in a historic building and great neighborhood. It felt very safe, you can easily walk around and to the restaurants in Lastarria and other places in the city. I loved Cerro Lucia which is not far from the hotel! My room was clean and very nice, comfortable bed and large bathroom. I much appreciated the complimentary bottle of Chilean wine and loved sitting outside in the quiet patio to relax, listen to the birds and read when I was back at the hotel. The best part was the staff, everybody incredibly friendly and helpful. They even prepared a picnic lunch for me when I had to catch an early flight! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

This is an interesting hotel. If i recall correctly it was a former embassy. The hotel was the bones to be special with some TLC. Our room was on the main floor with a terrace. The Terrace was below grade and needed a good cleaning and better furniture. The room and bathroom were clean but small. We were a little disappointed with the room. The included breakfast was served in a very nice second floor room with outdoor seating. There was a honour bar in the room in the afternoon and evening. We were provided with a nice bottle of Chilean wine in our room. The staff and front desk clerk were extremely helpful and friendly. I would give the hotel a qualified recommendation. Again this hotel could be great with a good refresh. Location was perfect to walk and find restaurants. Santiago is a great city and the hotel location allowed us to explore by walking.

Room tip: I would choose a large room vs. a terrace room.

Lovely little boutique hotel with lots of character. Nice breakfast with eggs/bacon cooked to order. Honesty bar when not staffed. Wine not sold by glass - carry a wine stopper for the bottle and save any left over in the room fridge for the next drink. Great location - a few minutes walk to the lovely restaurants of Lastarria as well as walking distance from city centre. Very safe area to stay.

When we got dropped off, we were scared! Graffiti all over and a strange man in a dark alley. Bad first impression, but unjustified. Lovely and very helpful staff. Room had huge terrace and large bathroom. Air conditioning
only cooled bed area and never made it to the bathroom. Small closet for clothes. Bedding and pillows were clean, bed a bit soft. Floor was well vacuumed, but made my white socks very dirty - needed a wash. Pool and patio area are VERY special - beautiful oasis in the middle of the city. Breakfast was delicious and coffee outstanding. Honesty bar allowed guests to make drinks and have snacks after hours - just keep track of your own tab. Beautiful sitting areas in this historic building. Shampoo/conditioner/soap etc were top quality products. Street with vendors, bars, restaurants and live street music just around the corner and up a block or so. Usual dinner time is about 8 so menu items can be limited in the late afternoon until dinner. A nice break from chain hotels!

Room tip: A large bottle of water is provided for free daily - often wasn't delivered - ask for it! If you like dark coffee, ask for it strong.
