I have been staying at Royal Park every year to celebrate my anniversary for a good 8 years now, and I can see that standards have dropped in some areas, but it is still a good hotel to stay in. This year, I encountered some areas that needs improvement.
Firstly, the female front-desk staff should be better trained to be friendly, but the male front desk staff were much friendlier. The hotel should also be more prepared for peak hour check-in and check-out times, and have more staff ready to service customers at those times. During check-in, there were 2 female staff with a queue waiting. One staff attended to a customer, while the other just did her own thing ignoring the queue there. During check-out, I was also in a queue, but when the male staff saw that I was checking out, he apologized for the long wait and attended to me first as check-out only took seconds for me.
Next is that the aircon controls in the room were not working. I had set the aircon to heat and it never gave heat, making the room very cold in the night. Also, the florescent light in the wardrobe was faulty and kept on blinking.
I would hope that the hotel would look at some of these areas to give customers a better experience at the hotel.More
