I always thought the 'steak experience' was overplayed and that actually restaurants dressing up a steak into fine dining were missing the point. Gaucho in London for example tries to make a theatre out of showing you your various cuts raw at your table, and I yawn through that, but Bistecca in Hong Kong does it right. Simple explanations, chef advice, simple but effective presentation result in a steak to die for. I recommend their 'hanger' steak, with nothing more than english mustard and a creamed spinach. Magnificent. Unlike many in Hong Kong, the wine selection is broad too, and while not coming in at pennies, won't break you either.
