Comfortable stay

Rooms were super spacious and clean . The only downside is there is no bath tub and toilet is a bit small but everything is clean.
However , my friend who used to stay at the hotel received toothbrush in a Mickey mouse tin box as part of her toiletries but when I enquired I was informed that it needs to be purchased?

WiFi is strong and the view we had from the small nook is beautiful which overlooked the bay.

The swimming pool also feels natural as though we were by the sea side .

There is a play room for the kids to entertain themselves and activities planned out on different timings so the kids will always be entertained !

The hotel itself is big hence there are plenty of spaces to explore . It felt like an African themed resort. Which I preferred compared to the other 2 Disney Hotels .

We had dinner at World of Color Restaurant . The halal meals were however limited and it was SUPER EXPENSIVE and me coming from Singapore , felt the pricing was super ridiculous . A bowl of laksa cost us 35SGD.

There is a free shuttle to Disneyland which is a plus .

On a side note .My daughter only got a happy birthday badge for her birthday stay . Kind of disappointed that a big brand like Disney doesn't give much on birthdays .

Hope to come back because overall we had a nice time at the hotel. !

Great hotel if you want to visit Disneyland

The happiest hotel for Disney fan kids, great location if your visiting Disneyland they have shuttle bus and entrance for Disney hotel guests. They have cute gifts for birthday celebrants. They don’t give bottled water they have water dispenser in the room. Lots of activities for kids.During our visit the pool was freezing cold but the kids got to enjoy the meet and greet next to the pool.The cast are friendly,helpful and approachable. The room are huge and descent they provide baby bed .

Room tip: During rainy days and planning to visit Disneyland they can let you borrow umbrellas.

Excellent theming!

PROS:

1. Love the theming! Luggage tag room numbers, binocular wall sconces, portmanteaus in the lobby and a lot more if you look closely!

2. Spacious rooms (good for 4 adults) with wonderful views of the sea!

3. Nice breakfast sets

4. Wonderful staff

5. Luggage storage outside the hotel near the shuttle bus stop.

6. Character meet and greet at the lobby

Enjoyed our stay

First time to stay in a Disney Hotel and my kids’ first time to visit a Disney Park. We’re very excited with high expectations. Explorer’s Lodge did not disappoint. The hotel’s facade and the lobby looks great with the adventure theme. We also met Donald Duck on our checkin day. The staff are very cheery and welcoming. We were allowed early checkin so we can already rest and late checkout to have more time swimming. There’s a gift shop in the hotel. We enjoyed our stay in the room. Comfy beds, Disney movies. Only negative feedback is, we didn’t have toiletries. We didn’t know and we weren’t informed (possible I just didn’t understand the front desk) about the plastic policy. Love that there is water dispenser. Used it for drinking and for coffee/tea. Location and shuttle buses made it very convenient for going to/from Disney Park. Still far though if we want to take a short rest. Disney is far from the city if we wanted to buy more affordable meals outside. It would be nice if there are bidets in the toilets. Since there are notes in the room about the towels, they can inform us about the missing toiletries and about the water dispenser (I learned about it in FB group about HKDL). Also would be convenient if there’s direct connection from airport to Disney train. Need to take the train and pass by Disney station and go back.

Room tip: Bring toiletries, bring reusable water bottle that can be placed in fridge or carry outside

Overall enjoyable experience with one single but serious flaw

I was travelling with my pregnant wife for a babymoon staycation. The hotel's vibe and decorations are great and matching with the explorer theme. We love the breakfast restaurant. Food is great with friendly and helpful staff - esp. Moon who helped in providing extra cushions for my wife and even suggested us the signature dishes.

Unfortunately there has been a serious and dangerous incident happened - the anti-slippery mat in the bathroom is not functioning properly. My pregnant wife slipped and luckily she happened to grab on something to avoid falling directly onto the floor. Ended up she has to further stay on bed for half an hour for calming down both her mind and muscles.

We are still a big fan of Disney and hopefully this incident is well delivered from the front office to housekeeping to avoid such happenings. It is beyond "not up to standard" when it comes to safety...
