“Great Vegetarian Dishes! Second visit to Din Tai Fung!”
Reviewed 6 days ago
NEW

Made to feel very welcome again! This was our second visit to one of these chain resultants. Excellent restaurant offering an array of dim sum and chinese dishes. I went with my partner and enjoyed, pork buns, vegetarian dim sum, chicken and fried egg plant for the second time! . Highly recommend to anyone visiting Beijing - especially if you are vegetarian.

“Consistently delicious well-known brand, just expensive”
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Din Tai Fung is a well know Taiwanese chain with delicious soup dumplings and more. We know the brand well and enjoyed a great lunch at the APM Shopping Mall location. Soup dumplings, snow pea shoots and fried rice. It was convenient at the APM shopping center after a lot of tourist walking; since we now the brand, we did not have to walk around looking for a lunch place. The restaurant is super clean and the staff is kind. Our only callout is that it is expensive especially compared to local restaurants; our bill for the food listed above plus two Sprites and two beers was over $60 USD.
We will continue to go to Din Tai Fung at locations around the world but did not return again for a second visit on this trip due to the high prices. Highly recommend Din Tai Fung anywhere in the world; just be prepared for the higher prices.

“Good xiao long bao ”
Reviewed 4 weeks ago via mobile

Always come here for their popular xiao long bao ( soup dumplings) . Tried the traditional dumplings ( with shrimp & pork) & the one with truffle. The dumplings were delicious & succulents as usual . Of course tried other appetisers & braised beef ramen. Overall it was a good dining experience, service is ok & reasonable price.

“Delicious Dim Sum”
Reviewed 4 June 2017

I've visited this brand in Singapore and was happy to see this location close to where I was staying. The menu is in English which is nice, the staff only speak a little english, but good enough to get by. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the service really was excellent. Plenty of variety including some for vegetarian. My favourite thing was the chocolate dumplings, which really were exceptional. Would recommend if you are in the area.

“Disappointing! ”
Reviewed 15 May 2017 via mobile

I was super excited to find this place on TA, I spent a semester in Shanghai a few years ago and absolutely loved soup dumplings so I had high expectations for this restaurant!

I had read on other reviews that if you get there after 9pm you'll be given the bill straight away, which was absolutely fine, but we were told that we wouldn't be able to order anymore food and we had to pay right then, while the waitress was hovering over us, which i found very uncomfortable!

We ordered two types of dumplings and a few side dishes. The pork dumplings were my absolute favourite in Shanghai and although they weren't as good they were still tasty. The side dishes we ordered were very bland and the vegetable dumplings weren't particularly exciting either.

Overall the experience was okay, but I've eaten dumplings much tastier for 1/10th of the price. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as I thought it was a bit of a rip off!
