“Relaxing and Tranquil”
Reviewed 22 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Villa Diletta in November. Mohamed was very good at making sure we arrived safely and had everything we needed. The apartment was well equip and if we needed anything extra Mohamed would be happy to oblige. The Villa was beautifully clean and included lots of little extras that just make it that bit more welcoming. The garden was a huge plus...fully enclosed and absolutely stunning! Roberta kept in touch prior to us arriving and then followed up afterwards to make sure we had enjoyed our stay. A shame we didn't meet but even Roberta needs to take a holiday. I came home feeling relaxed and hassle free so a big thank you to Mohamed, Roberta and Villa Diletta. We will be back next time we are in Luxor! X

Management Response

do not know how to thank you for these lovely words to Mohammed and Villa Diletta and .... even on me. It was a real pleasure to have guests like you, and a great satisfaction to make you happy.
We put love and passion to make your stay pleasant and satisfying ... and above all to maintain a garden that gives relaxation and flowers every month.
And a review such as this, we reward the mind and body. Thank you very much Elisabeth.

“Clean Quiet Spacious very good apartment in the Egyptian Village!”
Reviewed 27 April 2016 for a stay in November 2015

We stayed in the pink apartment from November 14th, 2015 to April 14th 2016. We had a very good safe holiday in Luxor and enjoyed everyday walking in the village, talking to locals, buying everything locally. This is a very clean, spacious quiet place right in the middle of Ramla area and 10 minutes walk to the ferry boat. We enjoyed going to local markets, bakeries. We visited Hurghada two times, did hot air balloon ride, did Nile Cruise. Took train to Qena and visited Dendara Temple. Took local buses to visit other places. Very Very safe here and locals are very friendly and do everything to make you safe and happy. Mohammed is there always giving useful information. Nice little garden, roof-top. We cooked our all meals using local produce. There are some big supermarkets in the East-Bank, they take credit cards. Enough local shops to buy things you need. Bedroom was cool so we did not use AC. Did use heat during cold nights. As all around Egypt early morning prayer call might wake up some people, but we used fan noise to cut that sound and slept very nicely! We talked with other tourists and they all liked this place so much. We will come back some day.

Our stay at Villa Diletta was great. It was clean, it looked exactly like in the pictures (the bed was actually bigger than I expected), and it was absolutely EXCELLENT value for money. If I ever go back to Luxor, I would stay there again.

It was quite close, maybe 6-8 minutes walking to the public ferry (1 EGP, no haggling necessary). Also close to some stores (near the ferry stop). I think one of the stores is called something like "Yura" but I can't remember. Anyway, beside that store, you can get falafels there in the morning (2 EGP) -- ask Mohamed.

It's located on the west bank, in a quiet area (can hear mosque at night, but it's hard to find a place where you can't!). The little garden in the front is very nice, we sat there in the evenings to read/talk.There was a lot of hassling on the way to/from the ferry ("taxi?"/"want to come into my restaurant?" and so on), have to ignore (or develop your own tactic to deal with it).

Wifi is kind of slow but works decently. Free laundry, buy your own detergent. You can hang your clothes on this rack outside. Water pressure was good. Bathroom was clean, and very large. A few mosquitoes. Didn't use air conditioner so can't comment on that. Kitchen had cutlery/some appliances you could use. Never watched the TV.

Mohamed is willing to help you with whatever you need, we had dinner with his family one night and the food was absolutely delicious. He is really friendly and his English is very good (we never met Roberta).

We asked to be picked up from the airport, which I would highly recommend. We also booked a private taxi driver through Roberta to visit the valley of the kings and some other temples. This turned out to be quite expensive. The driver is knowledgeable and reliable, and if you have the budget for this, I would recommend him (also named Mohamed). But if you want to travel more cheaply, there are other options (other taxi drivers, not sure about their reliability since we never took one, or mini buses, which may put off some people -- 1-2 EGP and you just get on, the door to the van may still be open, and hope it will go the right way. Just get off if it veers off course. There is a depot right beside the ferry on the west bank. We took it once, back to the depot. It was fine. Probably a bit weird for the Egyptians on board.)

So all in all, I would highly recommend Villa Diletta to anyone. It was excellent.

(And in case you're wondering, we didn't really feel unsafe (regarding any uprisings). There was a lot of hassling because of the lack of tourists, but the tourist police apparently has a lot of power there).

“Great place to stay, try it yourselves.”

We stayed in the pink apartment, it was immaculate, there was everything there we needed, towels, bedding and blankets. The kitchen was well equipped there was even an automatic washing machine to use. Very close to local shops, and a very cheap bus ride to most of the sites on the West Bank and the ferry to the East Bank. Mohammed who looks after you and the apartment is fantastic, and nothing is too much bother for him. The local people are very friendly and not pushy like the Egyptians on the East Bank. Mohammed took usnto his home one evening and made us very welcome, his family made us a traditional Egyptian meal, which was superb. We would definitely stay again at the apartment, should we return to Luxor. Thank you Mohammed for helping to make our stay in Luxor so memorable.
