I finally found a Mexican restaurant in Doha that serves delicious Mexican food. We were a large group and we each ordered something different off the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious!!
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited with friends who are fans of Mexican food and who had eaten here before. Lovely ambience and great food. Service was good and the portions large (especially the burritos! And all finished off with some churro sand a stroll back along the canal. Perfect...

The newest Mexican restaurant that opened in town. viva Mexico is located in the pearl at Qanat Quartier by the river. The ambiance is very nice, they truly made an effort on it. The only thing that I would have changed in the decor is the TV that showed when I went an episode of MasterChef, it really did not match with the rest, why not putting on a Mexican movie ?
The food is good, I do like the fact that they propose dishes that I haven't seen elsewhere such as the molcajetes (which is very tasty although I though that the meat quality could have been better as it was a bit chewy and overcooked. this is probably because the molcajete is a stone tool that keeps the heat and cooks the meat for some time).

Hoping to try something different, we tried this joint in QQ Pearl. The place was not busy apart from 2 tables being occupied by patrons. We ordered mojito, margarita, nachos, quesadilla and churros. Were expecting really tasty food but unfortunately, they were salty and didn't really gel with our tastebuds. Ambience was bright and colourful but service was really slow, took 45 mins to bring food to table and yet food served looked simple. Not coming here again.

We've recently been to Viva Mexico on a Friday for lunch. They were supposed to open at 1pm but the waitress was late so they made us walk around for a while while we waited for her to arrive.
Finally we were able to sit down and we were the first customers there. We are not really familiar with mexican food but we were together with Mexican people so they guided us in the choice of the dishes. Flavor-wise we can't complain, we liked everything we ate and portions were adequate as well.

The big let down for us was the service: super slow! We had to ask several times for any need we had - from an additional dish to more nachos and salsa etc. All the other tables were served before us and the waitress too really seemed unhappy and quite pissed. Never a smile, never a nice word.
They noticed that the lunch was going downhill so they kindly offered us a taste of churros which were of course appreciated.
We could be back but we really hope that service issues will be solved.
