The cheap price is pretty much everything good to be said about Mashhad Hostel. We were in a tiny room with insufficient air conditioning. Toilet facilities meager and the staff were a bit short of words. Also, the street is a super uninspiring drag of auto parts salesmen, and the metro isn't as close as it seems.

Mashhad was the cheapest Iranian hotel we stayed at - this is something, considering that we spent 34 days traveling through Iran and stayed at more than 12 hotels and guesthouses. 14 USD is really cheap for a double private room with shared bathroom in the most expensive city of the country. This is why I gave the place a high note, even though it's really basic and not very clean. But for those who are on a budget, it's doable: one of the staff members is nice and can help foreing travelers with information; they also have very good wi-fi.

Rooms and services are normal. Maybe can get this kind of rooms with more reasonable prices in other hotels. It's just 2 minutes on walk far from old US embassy in Tehran. Staff is good and can serve your food in room.

Mashad Hotel is not luxury one. You won't have bathroom for yourself and you won't find marble floors here. But it is very cheap (50 000 tomans per double room in a very centre of Teheran) - it was our cheapest place to stay in whole Iran. It's clean, it has bice gusest from Asia and Europe so you can exchange thoughts, contacts and plan something together.
It's advantage is fast WIFI and a very nice staff. They let us leave our bags for a whole day after we checked out and at night a guy from the reception desk cought a taxi for us and negotiated a good price for it.
Beds, are comfy, water is warm, bathrom&toilets are clean. Do you need more for 13 euros?
Also, it's located next to very lod street but rooms are totally quiet.

Room tip: cheapest in teheran

Not to be mixed up with the Mashad Hotel on Moayer street. On Google-maps the Mashad Hostel is also marked as Mashad Hotel. Very confusing.

250.000 Rials for a bed in the (5-bed) dorm. 350.000 single room, 500.000 double room. Two shared toilets and a shower in the hostel. One power outlet in the dorm. There is WiFi and a facility to boil water. Central location on busy Amir Kabir street (1 km from Imam Khomeini metro station and Grand Bazar).
