My friend and I stumbled across this place and were encouraged to venture in by two customers taking a cigarette break outside. The menu in the window also helped us entice us in.
We were made to feel welcome immediately and had great service throughout - friendly and informative, without being intrusive.
The food is delicious and clearly made with love, and the wine was very tasty.
My friend and I will definitely go back...and take everyone else with us! Highly recommended.

Absent-minded service is a recipe for disaster, even if the food is good.

When we wanted to order a specific dish, at first the waitress thought they were out of it, so she went to inquire. When she came back it turned out that it was available, but that two other main dishes were not available. It is obviously very unprofessional for the waitress not to know what is and what is not available, given the relatively small menu and the small number of tables in the place. Especially when the two dishes in question were stews. Two out the four non-vegetarian stews in a place called Stewart (Stew Art) is a bit like a steakhouse without half its steaks.

Unfortunately this was only the prelude to the real disaster. My companion ordered "Burgundy Style Pastry", asking specifically to have it without cheese (for Kosher reasons). When it arrived it became evident after two bites that contrary to our request the filling inside the pastry did contain cheese.

One of the most important aspects in restaurant management is to pay attention to the customers' needs and requests, whether they are in regards to dairy products for Kosher observers, gluten-free dishes for those suffering from celiac, or other ingredients for people suffering from any kind of allergy. Any mistake in this is unforgivable and shows a lack of respect to customers.

However good any of the other dishes served were, and there's no denying that the chef is probably gifted and inventive, the appalling level of service managed to ruin the evening for us.

Don't let the first impression to mislead you. Stewart & Wine is indeed a small and modest place, but has a great atmosphere and more important – serves the BEST stews in town. We had a family dinner (8 people) so we could taste several dishes. French, Italian Bulgarian and German stews were all just EXCELENT!! The kids had the home burgers and fries enjoyed it a lot. We couldn't resist the deserts – Vanilla crumble and Halva confi which were a perfect ending to a very enjoyable evening. We will certainly came back. Highly recommended

We really like this quaint restaurant in Neve Tsedek. The owners/staff are so nice, and the food is delicious and with large portions. It's a little bit off the beaten path, but easily accessible off of Herzl and a great find.
