Location: excellent, very close to the old town, Damascus Gate (about 5 mins. on foot; some cheap eateries with falafel and shawarma close by). Seemed safe to walk at night.
Check in/out fast and efficient. You get a complimentary welcome drink voucher that you can use in the adjacent restaurant, for beverage and even glass of wine.
Wifi: Good
Hotel building: beautiful, old Arab mansion.
Rooms: Have a lot of charm, but do not expect luxury. We had a room with three beds; it was a bit crammed and we had little space for the suitcases. One bed was very creaky and whenever the person sleeping in it turned, the other woke up. Tea/coffee making facility, with paper cups. No fridge or safe. View from room was onto and into the restaurant.
Bathroom: Small und a bit uninviting but clean. Complimentary shampoo, shower gel and body milk. Shower was a bit cramped and the overhead rain shower was leaky, so if you did not want to wash your hair, it was complicated.
Breakfast: friendly staff; fine, with buffet and some delicious dishes (including cappuccino and omelet, if ordered) – but when dishes ran out, they were not refilled or it took a very very long time.
Parking: is arranged for free in a parking lot about a minute away. Just ask at the reception. There is space to unload suitcases right in front of hotel.
We could leave our luggage after checkout.
150 E/ night was pricy (wouldn’t call it value for money) but everything in Israel is expensive. With some changes (leaky shower head, creaky bed, introduction of a safe in the room), this hotel could be great.
