I suggest to come here in the evenings when it is bustling with activity and Jewish families are arriving and then the experience is spiritual.

Fulfilling one more of my dreams. To be able to touch the Western Wall and understand why the conflicts of regilions and politics at the same time. So much fanaticism, so much extremism. a extrange culture. Prepare for many people around, very expensive food, very expensive services. The only good thing about the wall is that I now understand better why the historical conflicts. Everything is closed, including public transportation from Friday afternoon to Sunday.
Happy to live in America. I recommend you go.

To go to the Western Wall you have to go through security check. You are not allowed to take photos. Female and male have to enter from the right and left side of the Wall respectively. It is a lifetime experience to pray in front of the Western Wall and to reflect on the journey of the Jews in returning to this land after exile. For male they provide a Jewish cap for one to wear for entering the area.

This will forever be such a special place for the Jewish people and it’s a the place that absolutely every Jew must visit! I went on Shabbat before Yom ha’atzmut and it was the most amazing first experience of me as a Jew returning to the temple in Jerusalem

I recommend visiting this location. There is a lot of history at this site. There are coverings sold, if you don't have one with you. You can spend as much or as little time here. You may want to spend more than a few minutes to take in the significance of the wall itself. It gets crowded at this site, so be prepared for lots of people.
