This teahouse dating from the 1960s is one of the most interesting buildings on Rudaki Avenue. It combines Soviet modernist style with Central Asian nuances like slender pillars, airy porches and geometric motifs. Architecturally, it is very interesting and will satisfy a hankering for Soviet nostalgia.

The food includes bowls of noodles (laghman), fish dishes and plov. As well as tea, you can also get a beer. Costs are reasonable.

I was told that the plate I wanted to order was not available, then I was recommended (or rather talked into ordering) fish, which was simply a fried trout, pretty mediocre.
Turned out in the end that the fish was 3,50$ per 150g, I was told that I had eaten 750g = 18$ of plain frieeld trout, which is a of course a ridiculous price, above all in Dushanbe.
So this was a frustrating tourist scam and the way the waiters behaved they and us knew what was going on.
Beware of this place!

We wanted to order meat which was not possible. Instead we were recommended to take fish which we agreed to. The food was quite ok nothing special. Then we asked for the bill and it was immense! It turned out that we had to pay 18 Dollar only for the fish!! Really the sadest restaurant experience we had in a long time travelling. Please do not go there!

This has to be a place to see whilst in Dushanbe. The food was good and remarkable value but the service was awful.
Such a shame but still worth the visit.

The place is nice and worth a visit as it is a quite typical tea house but DO NOT eat here. Of a very large menu they only had three of four dishes available and in addition they were precooked and not fresh.
